Dr. Navin H Adatia, MD

I started going to a new psychiatrist and I feel they give me a lot more attention to me. I once tried to reschedule an appointment and the receptionist told me that it's best to "not waste the doctor's time." I have prescribed the medication that sponsors the office in about 10 minutes. The new psychiatrist gave me options, went in-depth about how I was when I was a kid, and very specific questions that target what I'm experiencing. I took almost the full hour to go into detail with her rather than 15 minutes at most. I'm really glad I switched, I feel a lot more attention and support after just the first new appointment with my new psychiatrist.

I planned an appointment with him because it was the closest I could get date-wise but I regret it immensely. Absolutely unable to answer questions or read social cues.

Dr. Adatia is cold, unnerving, and even condescending. He lacks empathy and criticizes you, leaving you with feelings of worthlessness and unresolved emotions. However, I am giving 2 stars because this doctor's office was willing to take appointments of new patients within a reasonable waiting time and was able prescribe the medications I needed.

I am the conservator for a patient that was just evaluated by Dr. Adatia. She was sent to Huntington Hospital by her skilled nursing facility because she was completely psychotic and violent endangering other patients, striking out at the staff, and refusing medication. She was initially admitted to the medical floor because of an infection. She required a sitter to be with her because of her behavior. Each nurse that dealt with her reported her continued lack of compliance. Dr. Adatia refused to admit her to the psychiatric unit or even to respond to my repeated requests for a phone call. He cited totally pretextual reasons. He said that she was not ambulatory. She is totally ambulatory with the use of a walker. In fact one of the complaints of the skilled nursing facility was that she was constantly going into other patients’ rooms and frightening them. She has Medicare and Medical-Cal. If insurance considerations are the real reason, he could at least be honest. He did nothing to… help this patient when she was in the hospital. He gave a very cursory examination and then charged an extremely exorbitant fee. We have had prior negative experience with this doctor at another hospital, and had I known that he was the evaluating doctor, I would have requested that any other doctor be assigned to her.

I have had numerous experiences with this doctor, but all it takes is one minute with him to feel his cold, cruel manner. Do not use this doctor.

This is an angry person.

Dr. Adatia was not a good doctor he made me feel like he didn't care about me or listened to me. Do not waste your time seeing him. He is not compassionate.

I have been treated by many doctors with no satisfaction of diagnosis. When I met with Dr. Adatia I immediately felt as though someone knew exactly what was going on with me. He asked questions and gave me his opinion. Doesn't smile much but cares enough to help me. Dr. Adatia gave me the right medications with excellent results. I am finally a normal person!!!

I've been seeing Dr Adatia for several years. I have benefited from his help. At one point I ran out of a medication and he gave my 16 days worth until I could afford to buy it.

This doctor was assigned to my parent when he was admitted at the della Martin Center at Huntington Hospital. My parent got so much worse under this doctor's care. The doctor ordered some medications over the phone that made my parent a drooling vegetable. I am also very dissapointed in a phone conversation with the doctor where he made me feel dumb and my concerns insignificant
