One star only because they don't have a zero. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR (using the term doctor loosely).

Dr.Barot has followed me for 2 years with chirrosis. He has addressed everything I needed and seen me promptly with any issues I've had. He is truly the best Dr I've ever had.

I didn’t even want to give him 1 star but had to in order to do this review. He put a feeding tube in me and he punctured through to wrong place. I bled and my BP dropped and I almost died. He didn’t even come to check on me until the next day and said, I don’t know why you bled, it was a small puncture. I went to a different doctor that finally did a scope and found out he had not even placed it in right place. It was in the tissue and water and food was not going in stomach and I got infection and had 104 fevers. I really think Memorial needs to check him out. From what I have read from others, he is endangering lives and this has to stop. I expect more from Memorial. He squints a lot, maybe he can’t see, and he is very rude! I don’t like a rude Doctor. I expect Dr. Northington and CEO to make sure he is capable of doing procedures.

I'm stil in the hospital but felt compelled to tell everyone how pleased I am with Dr Barot! He is the first of at least 5 doctors at this hospital that made a call that I agreed with and made sense. All of these others are slice and dice, then shove you out the door like an assembly line. Not Dr Barot. He looked at my problem, realized I'm a human and not an automobile, and said that my insides need time to rest, time to heal. Thank you Dr. Navin Barot. I want to sincerely say thank you. ~K Justice

He had good bed side manners and was attentive to my needs as a patient.

Hi I'm Cheryl Holbrook. In my 58 years, Dr Barot is my all time favorite. He's extremely intelligent, skilled and has a wonderful bedside manner. He has a heart of gold; a very kind soul.

I only spent a couple minutes in his office, he only asked one question that wasn't relevant, he then ordered 4 tests including an endoscopy. He was very rude and dismissive. I was uncomfortable with him and should have gotten a referral to a different doctor. Anyway...My follow up appointment was a joke: he never explained any of the test results, never discussed what was wrong with me and never mentioned a treatment plan. I complained and asked his nurse what was going on. She looked embarrassed and went to check with Barot; came back and said he would see me in 6 months. I asked "see me for what?". He'd failed to write much of anything in his notes, so she couldn't answer my question. I left his office knowing I had something wrong with me (folks who did my tests told me to "be sure and ask the Dr. about my swallowing problem/the pouch in my esophogus/etc") but not knowing what it was or what it meant. I ultimately learned my diagnoses by reading a Visit Summary that I received from… a different doctor!! I will never recommend Dr. Barot to anyone! Poor bedside manner doesn't begin to address his issues. He may be technically competent (I can only hope), but he has no idea how to communicate with a patient (or with a nurse, anesthetist or anyone else as evidenced in the endoscopy procedure room). If he can't tell me about the results of my tests, what those results mean, and what treatment plan should be put in place then...in my opinion...he shouldn't be in the business of treating patients. To top it off, the two times he uttered something to me I couldn't understand him. I thought he had a speech impediment but was told that he never learned to speak passable English despite 20 years in the U. S. Do not waste your time seeing this doctor. There are many other good gastro docs who work with Memorial Hospital.

I would not recommend him to anyone

Will wheel you right into the procedure room without asking a question and treated his nurses/staff wilth the most disrespect I have ever seen. De Baron does not deserve to practice medicine and Memorial should be ashamed of themselves for not putting him in check. Memorial knows he is their endo cash cow and is willing to look over any and all cases that Dr Bardot runs through. He is allowed the utmost freedom to schedule as many unnecessary cases as possible as long as Memorial is in the red they look the other way. If you need an ohnest opinion on wether or not you need a procedure, he is not the one to go to.

Saw me for less than 5 minutes and only asked me one question and quickly looked over my chart, saw my age and said, yes we'll do colonoscopy. HUH???? Not having my procedure done by him.
