Dr. Nayeem Karim, DO

Very good listener. Thorough. Not dismissive.

This office has the worst customer service I have ever seen in any business. They will not listen to your needs. They will not call you back. You will never be able to speak to a person on the phone. Their phone system is setup to make sure it sends you directly to voice mail. You will not get an answer back, even in email. It took me a week to get someone to give me my test results and that was only after I went back in person to the office.

I had been to several neurologists who could not get dosages right, and would not really listen to me and would just give me another pill to try. After a recommendation from a co-worker to check out Sentara Neurology I was assigned to Dr. Karim and he is AMAZING, he listens to you, makes professional recommendations, and with his help we have finally found a treatment plan for my chronic migraines. If I have any issues at all his nurse Jayme calls me back in a very timely manner.

Will never ever go back to Doctor Karim. He didn't want to hear my medical history. Just wanted to push pills on me. Did a EMG on me and the pain was unbearable. I couldn't even drive myself home after the appointment. He spend hardly anytime with me. When he had me walk toe to toe i told him i couldn't feel my left foot and that my balance was off. He told me to do it anyways. When i fell to the floor i thought he was going to help me but he was to busy typing stuff into the computer. I thought maybe because he saw how bad i was that maybe he noticed something that would help me. WRONG!! He told me he couldn't find anything wrong with me. My neurosurgeon had already done 3 MRI's of my brain and diagnose me and Doctor Karim tells me that that none of that is causing the pain or weakness on my left side. Don't go to this doctor. To busy trying to play GOD!

Did not appear interested in me as a patient.

He is a great part of my health care team

Do not use this guy. He is totally useless. I got the creeps visitinig his office as I was the only one in the place on all three visits. Very strange from the top down. I asked his nurse why he said all my tests were normal when a major item was clearly not normal, she got quite defensive and said she was paid to tell what he says to tell me and not to know about all these different tests!?!? The whole experience should be 'you tubed' and shared with the medical community on how not to do it.

I could go on and on...but the bottom line is he is a sad waste of time, pushes a lot of medications that have been in the news being sued by lawyers, loves to recommend nerve block shots and other ineffective methods of treatment...like I said I can go on and on...beware of this "doctor" .
