Dr. Anton Emil Coleman, MD

My perception of the man--a real loose cannon. My questions include how he ever got privileges at any American hospital. Big on holistic, even questionable approaches and treatments in my opinion. Regularly critical of senior physicians when speaking to the patient. Often seemed to avoid using regular hospital procedures. Had what appeared to be a strained relationship with hospital staff.

He has worked in our hospital and he has a horrible atitude . Very verbally abusive . No matter his credentials...He has no kind of respect for employees and or staff at the hospitals he covers for . His awards do not dictate the type of man he is . I do not recommend this doctor to anyone .

Absolutely horrible experience with this hospitalist neurologist. He was politely asked to speak directly in front of my hearing-impaired mother, he refused. He become irritated and abrupt when she couldn't follow commands or respond to questions (she couldn't hear him). He was constantly badgering her and leading her to a diagnosis that was apparently acceptable for him (vertigo- which had been ruled out already) When Mom didn't react to a command as he wanted he physically turned my mothers head and held it to the bed. Not sure what that was other then battery. All that and he's going to "think about it" meaning he has no idea what to do Fired him as a consulting MD, made formal complaint with administration.

LESS THEN DISPLEASED / MORTIFIED WITH DR COLEMAN. AS A FAMILY WE WERE TOLD THAT MY MOTHER DID NOT HAVE VASCULAR DEMENTIA WHEN INDEED WE KNEW FROM PREVIOUS NEUROLOGIST SHE HAD HAD MULTIPLE Mini-Strokes (TIA's) HE TOLD US HE HAD READ THE NEUROLOGY REPORT AND THAT IS NOT WHAT IT SAID..HENCE MY FATHER N HAD NEVER SIGNED A RELEASE OF INFO UNTIL NEXT DAY SO REPORTS COULD BE OBTAINED FROM OTHER HOSPITAL. SECONDLY MY MOTHER HAD BEEN HAVING BEHAVIORAL ISSUES FOR 2 DAYS BUT THEN BECAME SOMEWHAT LETHARGIC/LISTLESS; MY SIL AS MY WITNESS TOLD US THAT THIS WAS ALL BEHAVIORAL..HAD HE REALLY KNOWN MY MOTHER 1ST OF ALL HE COULD NEVER GOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO PUT A Q TIP IN HER NOSTRIL BECAUSE SHE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HIT HIM...YES THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BEHAVIORAL....HE ALSO TESTED HER REFLEXES AND MOST CERTAINLY KNOWING MY MOTHER SHE WOULD HAVE TRIES TO KICK OR HIT HIM...THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BEHAVIORAL...THE LAST DAY WE SAWNDR COLEMAN I EXPLAINED WE WOULD BE TAKING MY MOTHER HOME ON HOSPICE TO CARE FOR… HER...AS HE LEFT THE ROOM HE TOLD ME AND MY SIL THAT IT "WAS GOUNG TO BE A LONG HOSPUCE STAY" I FOUND THIS COMMENT TO BE VERY RUDE, IGNORANT AND ARROGANT....ESPEACIALLY WHEN MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY NOT EVEN 72 HRS LATER AT HER HOME UNDER HOSPICE CARE....I ALSO AM IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND WAS MORTIFIED BY THIS EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH MY MOTHER....
