Dr. Ned Mark Howard, MD

I just had my first eye examination from Dr Howard whom I found to be very thorough, professional and friendly. My appointment was for 3:00 and I was led into the examination room just before that time and my history was collected by a very personable technician. Ten minutes after she finished, Dr Howard entered and examined my eyes for perhaps thirty minutes; reassuring me that my cataracts were nominal, my vision was not greatly changed from my current prescription and advising me to return in two years. I have no complaints and am happy to have found him. His staff was equally professional.

It has been nearly three years, and I still cannot see well. I cannot read a book, knit, sew, recognize faces at more than five feet. Dr Howard does not help me in any way. I can no longer pursue my profession, and make my living. I am forced to live on Social Security. When I go to a specialist eye doctor, on the vain hope that something can be done, I have to pay a driver, which cuts severely into my budget. Dr Howard does not care, does not help, doesn’t even apologise for blinding me. DO NOT GO TO HIM !!

I've been going to Dr. Howard for years. He's always pleasant, concerned and compassiinate. Last year, out of the blue, I went half blind, horizontally, in one eye. I immediately called his office. They got me in that day. I spent over an hour there. He did a test on me that showed my vision in that eye. I was immediately put on a medication to stave off further damage.They made an appointment for me to see a surgeon to have a biopsy done. This was on a Friday. Dr. Howard actually called me from his home on Sat. & Sunday to see if I was ok! I will never go to another eye doctor. The staff was just as concerned and helpful.

DR Howard operated on my eye for cataract andleft me blind i that eye. I can no longer work,drive a car, and read only with a large magnoifying glass. He is incompetant, andhis lisence should be revoked. DO NOT GO TO HIM !!!

Dr. Howard did a good job explaining what was going on with an eye symptom that was concerning me for several weeks. By the time I saw him, I was getting worried. While it turned out that there is likely nothing serious going on, Dr. Howard did not dismiss my concerns and carefully examined my eyes, as well as discussing my symptoms with me and arranging a follow up appointment. I left feeling less worried about my symptoms and confident I have finally found a good local eye doctor, which is important because I have some underlying medical issues that can sometimes cause eye problems. Dr. Howard's assistant, who saw me first to go over medical history, etc. was competent and polite during my visit. I would recommend Dr. Howard.

Totally contrary to the negative review I just read on this site...I found Dr. Howard and his staff to be excellent people to deal with. Very pleasant and courteous. Dr Howard's prompt diagnosis of my vision problems a few years ago very likely saved my eyesight. His educated and thorough exams have continued to ensure my vision for as long as any macular degeneration patient may expect. Perhaps even longer considering his care and recommendation for the corrective care that is available today. I trust him implicitly and highly recommend both he and his staff.

Waited 45 minutes in exam room only to be confronted with a belligerent non apologetic doctor. Left without being examined and will NEVER return. Office staff is equally rude. Told him I had been waiting 45 minutes, his reply, " so be it !" Complete jerk, said he will see if he deems me as patient: dream on!
