Dr. Neeraj Kumar Kalra, MD

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Neeraj Kumar Kalra. He treated me with complete neglect and disbelief during a sickle cell crisis. Instead of listening to me, he acted as if I was lying about my pain simply because my labs didn’t look “severe” to him. Anyone who understands sickle cell knows that lab numbers do not reflect the level of pain a patient is experiencing. His dismissive and racist attitude made me feel unsafe and uncared for. A few days later, I was actually diagnosed with COVID, and on top of that, I was also dealing with arthritis in my hips that was contributing to my pain something he ignored. He showed zero compassion, questioned my integrity, and failed to provide adequate care. This doctor is negligent, lazy, and unfit to work with vulnerable patients. I would never recommend him to anyone. I truly hope the hospital takes action and holds him accountable. No patient deserves to be treated this way.

He is such a great doctor...my grandmother was admitted to New Britain General and he took such great care of her!!!

I would recommend Dr.Kalra & have done so. He has an excellent reputation!! He has helped me like no other MD - he's wonderful!
