very good experience, time spent, questions answered. good professional mannerism. empathy and compassion.

She has zero empathy, tried telling me it wasn't possible for me to have PTSD from my past pregnancy, and fails to listen intently to my personal needs as they relate to my psychiatric symptoms. She has no right working with distraught veterans such as I, because her 'bedside manner' is terribly unprofessional

Everything Carl R had written is unfortunately 100% true. It is very easy to get an appointment with her because her patients leave her as soon as they can. It's extremely unfortunate they put her, of all people, in a VA.

Dr. Thapa had never seen me in my life. She has the bedside manner of a mortition, that is, she speaks as though you have no say in your care. She makes medication decisions based on inexperience and paranoia about issues she has not fully studied. She is practicing advanced psychiatry with combat veterans, with less than a year of supervisory authority only. She is rude, anti Veteran, and interrogates patients as though she is a Pakistan double-agent. Given her Muslim or Hindu religious beliefs and having an almost nonunderstandable India accent, she caused me to have a PTSD panic attack within the first 10 minutes with her. She is an unqualified mental health worker, thrown into the VA psychiatric field to plug a hole only. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to her.
