He was kind, smart, and able to calm down my frightened child, and then explain her diagnosis clearly to me and lay out the next steps to take.

Well I'm glad I pick my kids Drs by word of mouth not this website! I took my two boys in to see Dr. Spencer, and had a wonderful experience -- just as all my friends had told me to expect. And I have a lot of friends. Yes, the office is really quite terrible (no toys for kids in waiting room, appointments that are months out, etc), but my kids ADORED Dr. Spencer. I went in stressed and came out smiling. THAT is something impressive for this mom of active toddlers.

Only spent a few minutes with me and my 3 year-old to tell me that her eyes where so bad and to go to the optometrist he works with. He would not answer my questions and told me to just go to the desk for my papers. I am getting another option and never setting foot in this office again!!

I spent 3_ hrs in the waiting room with my 3 year-old. The entire staff took lunch leaving 4 3 year-olds in the waiting room with no food or toys to play with. I was told that the dr "takes his time" with patients. We spent a whole 4 minutes in the exam room and at no time did the dr look at me or speak with me regarding his exam results.

Took my son in for an exam because he felt his vision was getting worse and he was out of contact lenses. He had a full exam by Dr. Nehemiah Spencer [Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants] and dilation. I was given a script for glasses and was told that wherever I took him for the contact they would "need to add a few numbers in" to get the contact script. I then went over the Lenscrafter and was told that my son could not just get a "contact exam;" he would need a "full exam" for $135. I then called over to Clear Vision Center where Dr. Miller had referred us original for contacts and they told me the same thing. They also told me that Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants usually sends them over the script for contacts. So here I am, after getting my son's exam .... unable to get contacts without a complete new exam. When I called the office at 3:20 they had already left b/c it was New Year's Eve. I told the on-call person that I needed to speak with the doctor to clear this up… and I left my cell phone number. When I called back at 4:20 I was told that my call was not an emergency and that they were not going to "bother" the doctor. So, I missed work, can't get my son the contacts he needs and my situation is considered merely a nuisance to the doctor's office. Hope they all enjoy their new year's eve / new year's day --- mine is ruined.
