Dr. Neil J Atlin, DO

I was referred to Dr. Atlin from a Worker’s Comp Clinic who initially treated me for an injury related to an MVA. I found him to be attentive and thorough. He recommended several different remedies throughout my treatment including medication, injections and a spinal cord stimulator. Throughout this process, he taught me that the pain affects our bodies in several different ways that cause the stress and anxiety associated with the pain. There were days I literally wanted to die because I thought, “if this is how my life is going to be, I just don’t want to live like this. “ and I’ve NEVER felt so hopeless and suicidal prior to this event. The spinal cord stimulator along with the medication (we are slowly trying to wean me from) have had a fabulous result for me. I am, quite literally, a new person and very close to being like my old self again. PS. His office staff are amazing as well. Professional, yet sensitive and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Atlin to anyone for… pain management.

Dr Neil Atlin was a life saver for me. I found him in 1999 . I was in so much pain that I couldn't do anything . Dr Atlin took good care of me he assured me that the pain that I was having would be taken care of & he did . I am still with Dr Atlin today .I now can do whatever I want to do in life thanks to my Dr Atlin.

After an Ortho Surgeon, 2 pain mgt docs and a team of doctors and 10 years of living with immense pain I found Dr. Atlin and he put together a treatment plan that changed my life. He performed multiple procedures, many done by previous docs with no relief everytime greatly reducing my pain levels and reducing narcotics. Dr. Atlin is no nonsense and does not pass out narcotics to mask the pain, his goal is to improve quality of life. He has a staff of wonderful caring people who are a bonus. The negative reviews seem to be put off by Dr. Atlin's candor, I too naively questioned his treatment plan when I met him, he sharply asked me if I wanted to get better or go on treating myself... As stubborn as I am, I am so thankful that I listened... His plan has tremendously reduced meds and improved my quality of life, if that is your goal he is the right Doctor for you.... thank you Dr. Atlin and your awesome staff!

There are allot of negative reviews surrounding this doctor. They are there for a reason, and I had to learn the hard way. While Dr. Atlin is knowledgeable, he reeks of being untrustworthy. my fears were justified when I requested his clinical notes from my one and only office visit. The report was filled with untruths and littered with lies. I asked for no pain meds. I never ask for pain meds...yet he made it sound like I'm a drug addict. Here is an answer to one of the other reviews which was negative. "Furthermore, thousands of patients whom have failed all previous forms of treatments , MDs, chiropractic , rehab have gained excellent recovery w his treatments. Patients from all neighboring states and within the State of Texas continue to visit Dr Atlin for his unique approach and insite to chronic pain." Really? Thousands of patients? Plus, he spelled "insight" incorrectly, so I wonder who might have written this rebuttal. When a doctor has this many negative reviews, something… is wrong. He is rude, confrontational. pompous and dismissive. He also makes it sound like pain pumps, spinal cord stimulators and the like are easy decisions for patients to make. The guy is bad news.

Dr. Atlin seems to have a god-complex, and loves to talk to/through & over his patients. He belittles the fear connected to a life altering dx, and if questioned in anyway, he becomes defensive and pouts like a child. I’d prefer to put my life into the hands of a doctor who is not afraid to think outside of his box... which in my opinion is CRPS ..whether you have it or not!! Get a second opinion!

Dr. Atlin is knowledgeable about chronic pain. However, Dr. Atlin has a mean streak a mile long. Don't ask too many questions, or question his thought process. If you happen to be well read on your condition, this is quite problematic. He can't come to terms with it. The biggest surprise I had was reading the Dr's notes, about two months after my initial and only visit. He must have been examining a different patient.. Some of the tests he claimed he ran as far as a physical exam...were simply not true. Additionally, he did a psych evaluation on me, and unless I'm mistaken...he's not a psychiatrist? He also made some assumptions about me and put them in my chart. I was warned ahead of time not to see him. So in some ways, this falls on me. I should have heeded all the negative reviews. They were there for a reason. There are many qualified pain management Dr's in Dallas. This guy is nothing but trouble.

I am so greatful to have Dr. Atlinfor helping me manage my pain. He has helped me tremendously!

I developed RSD/CRPS while recovering from an injury in 1997. Trying to find information on the condition and proper treatment was difficult. Over the next two unbearable years, I went through almost as many doctors as I did procedures trying to get my pain under control. I found Dr. Neil Atlin and have been under his care since 1999. I attribute him with not only educating me about my condition, getting my pain to a tolerable level but also helping me achieve a functional life with pain. Through all these years, he has been there to help whenever life knocks me out of sync! He's not always easy... but in my opinion, his knowledge and abilities far out way any negatives.

Dr. Atlin is extremely knowledgeable in his field. However, I always feel like a new patient when I see him every 6 weeks for years.. He has my file in front of him and he asks the same questions. I feel that if these answers are so important then they ought to be available upon opening the file..
