Dr. Neil Ignatius Brickel, MD

I have been under Dr. Brickel’s wise and compassionate care for several years. I am here today because he listened to me and cared about what happened to me. He didn’t rush to a diagnosis, or send me off with a handful of prescriptions like so many psychiatrists I’d seen previous to him. I talked, he listened. He asked questions and listened to my answers. He listened to my questions and answered them with care and consideration. He explained what he thought would be the best course of treatment for me and welcomed my concerns and questions. I am in a place of mental wellness today, I never thought was possible.

Dr. Brickel is very patient and is a good listener. He lets the patient have an opinion in their treatment. He is compassionate and takes time to understand what you are saying.

My Hubby and myself have been seeing Dr.Brickel over 15 years!! He is the best, he is like Family to us, he has changed my life so much, I am much calmer and have learned skills for personality disorder and to be kind to other people.I would write unkind Emails to my Family and he taught me skills and I not wrote one unkind Email in over a year. My hubby is always so happy for our visits. Dr. Brickel has also been very caring about my other ailments and helps us with test I have had and helps us a lot with concerns,I had a very serious Dental issue lasting 6 years he was more caring than the Dentist and Oral Surgeon,he was more educated than the Dentist! He is very professional and well mannered always dressed top notch in Designer clothing we have in common about fashion as I worked in fashion over 30 years, we love his suspenders lol, his office is so comfy. He always gives us more than a hour we are sad when our session is over! We are moving to Englewood Florida and we will fly… up to see Dr. Brickel every 3months , he is one of a kind GEM! He also saved my life some years back. We Respect Dr.Brickel with all our heart. I love to make him laugh!!Thank You Dr.Brickel, your the best ever.

Dr. Brickel is one of the few, at least when I was a patient, that did therapy AND medication management. 99.9% of psychiatrists meet you for maybe 30 min to 1 hour for your first appointment. Make a diagnosis. Whip out the prescription pad, and start writing prescriptions. See you in a month for 15 minutes! to determine how it's going. Sorry, but that doesn't work. They might tell you to "See a therapist. Here are some names". Do they ever speak to them? Not unless they work in the same office, and even then, I'm not certain they do. Dr. Brickel does both. In 45 minutes or an hour, he can not only get your feedback on the meds, but SEE you, and how you are looking, and behaving. What are your problems? What can we do about them? I've been to 5 different psychiatrists over 15 years, and he's by far the best. The one I have now, due to insurance? The worst.

Dr. Brickel took time to listen. He did not make me feel like I was exaggerating or wasting his time. He is patient and I am finally at a place where I feel like a functional productive person. I did have to wait a bit for my initial appointment, but as an existing patient making an appointment has been very quick and easy.

Ease of appointment due to me just starting and Dr. Brickel is fitting me in. Promptness...says it like all docs. Accurate Diagnosis - Yes. Right now we are working together on medicines for the diagnosis. Office Staff is supperior

Dr. Brickel is an amazing Psychiatrist - his therapy sessions with me completely straightened out my life. He makes you work hard, but guides you gently through the process. He is extremely caring and dedicated to helping his patients. I consider myself blessed and lucky to have found Dr. Brickel.

Periodically I see Dr. Brickel as needs arise. He is always very responsive, helpful and available. This hard workig physician really care about his patients and practice.
