Dr. Neil Richard Gleason, MD

Dr. Gleason is one of the only reasons I am here today. I was hospitalized with Covid for over 3 months with a multitude of complications along the way. While many other ICU doctors at Portsmouth Regional hospital have me a death sentence, Dr. Gleason held out hope. He tried everything. His communication with my family every step of the way was top notch. When I finally awoke from my coma and became more lucid, he was an excellent communicator, his compassion and bedside manner were excellent while dealing with a patient (me) who didn’t quite grasp what was going on. I will forever be grateful for the care provided by the ICU staff at PRH, particularly, Dr. Gleason.

Breezes through ICU like walking the golf course. Does not listen to family's concerns , ignores patients' symptoms ... only looks at numbers on the screen . I pray your loved one is never in Portsmouth ICU and he is on your case.

Dr. Gleason is amazing. He spent hours with me and my family while we suffered through my son's admission to the icu. He reminds me of the old type of doctor that would come by the house and really cared about the patient and family.
