Dr. Neil Alan Levin, MD

Reading these reviews, I wonder if things have changed for the worse over the last few years. Sadly, I can't recommend Dr Levin to anyone - I was assigned him after my last doctor left his position to go into a teaching role, and the experience couldn't have been more polarized. Levin was dismissive, uninterested and rude (literally not a hello nor a goodbye, as he walked out the room). I had 3 appointments all with the same experience before moving to Sutter because Providence won't allow me to switch doctors. If I could go back to my previous physician, I would, but I've never had a bad doctor experience until Dr. Levin.

Please know that I found Dr. Neil A. Levin's services, along with his nurse assistant and his entire office staff to be exceptional and superlative in every conceivable way! My first time visit was the best experience in recent memory. Dr. Levin was professional, patient, and extremely courteous during the entire hour I spent in his company. He slowly and clearly reviewed my entire medical history of health matters, past and current prescriptions, their effects and conducted the initial consultation with thorough precision and sensitivity. From this first encounter alone, I would trust Dr. Levin with my life and highly recommend his services to anyone seeking a truly professional, knowledgeable and courteous Doctor of internal medicine.

Neil Levin is well educated but like too many physicians today he is never reachable. The office runs like any big impersonal institution. You must leave recorded messages, requests and within a day or more an assistant will return your call. No personal contact and no personal attention to the patient. Therefore I changed doctors.

After 20 years with an extraordinary Internist who retired I was recommended to Dr Levin. It's not easy to adjust to someone new on such a personal level as health. I had to be open for this new relationship due to my health issues. I found Dr Levin dispassionate about me and my problems, and was not comfortable about his lack of focus. He did refer me to specialists, but his final word was to deal with the problem. I felt he lacked intellectual vigor and is not challenged to find what is wrong. I don't find his demeanor very comforting either. His qualifications are impressive, but not apparent.

He is a very personable, patient, and caring physician. Doesn't hesitate to refer to specialties when necessary without asking. Remembers your history and talks to you honestly when diagnosing and prescribing. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new physician especially the elderly like me. I am pleased I chose him after my physician I had for more than 25 years retired. I am confident I made the right choice.

He is a fine MD who listens and understands. His solutions and treatment usually work perfectly from the start.

Dr. Levin is my new doctor of choice after visiting many. His knowledge base gave me the confidence I needed and encouraged me to keep asking questions. He wasn't rushed and made me feel comfortable talking about my diagnosis.

Dr. Levin is the best diagnostician in town and has great bedside manners.

Dr. Levin was very good at diagnosing my health problems and guiding me toward being healthier. He is attentive to my comments during office visits. I have sometimes dealt with him completely over the phone (for which he has received no money). I have recommended him to a close friend and she also thinks he is a good doctor. I must say that from time to time I have had difficulties with the office staff, which seems to have a turnover of personnel. I must be alert and follow up with hem.
