Dr. Neil Alan Phillips, DO

Dr Phillips is always up to date with what's going on in the "pediatric sickness pool" in grants pass. He treats symptoms with knowledge based medicine and usually gives you a refill if the symptoms return. I have been going to him since my first born son in 2008 and I would never transfer anywhere else.

Dr Phillips is a typical American doctor no appetite for researching and trying alternative treatments. My son has had stomach issues since he was born and Dr Phillips doesn't seem to want to figure out why. Ever since my son starting going poop on the toilet he has had constipation issues. Dr Phillips' only advice was to give him laxatives, no attempt to find an underlying cause. Every checkup at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 years old, he's still constipated, unless he has gobs of Miralax every day he get's constipated. Dr. "well, 1 in 5 kids is constipated, keep giving him Miralax." At one point he was having severe gastrointestinal pain and he still didn't have any other suggestions. My wife finally took him to a Naturopath. She had some food sensitivity testing done. He's allergic to wheat, gluten, dairy and sensitive to eggs and beef. If he avoids these foods his bowels are much more comfortable. Within days of him stopping these foods his stomach pains went away and he is rarely… constipated anymore. You can go to him for normal stuff, but if your kid has any strange medical needs don't expect Neil to be of any help. Oh, and when he found out my wife took my son to the Naturopath he gave her a pretty dirty look. Like I said, pretty typical American Dr., just take something for the symptom and don't try to find out what's really wrong.
