I thought Dr. Roth was very knowledgeable and competent but I did not like that the receptionist wouldn't let me see him without taking X-rays first, BEFORE he even saw or spoke to me. Overall, I felt he did not give much consideration to conservative treatment before wanting to go on to more invasive treatment, requiring surgery.

Such a great Doc and great staff. Friendly, professional and Dr. Roth takes his time with you to explain your diagnosis and plan of care. What a great experience !!!

This doctor is garbage he works for concentra they are a service for workman's comp anyone who goes there with a shoulder injury he operates on it without using other alternatives he also don't do pre-op and doesn't tell you if he implants objects in you

Dr. Roth did both shoulders for me - labral tears. great success. definitely would recommend him again. i went to him 2X for shoulders, tore the second about a year after the first. both were back to normal approx 6 months after pt. please do the pt as it is necessary for recovery.

I have been to several prominent sports medicine doctors in the area, but none were as thorough and caring as Dr. Roth. He fully explained my torn shoulder labrum and after initial conservative treatment, I had a great arthroscopic surgery to fix it and i am now back to playing all sports without any pain! I couldn't recommend Dr. Roth any higher. Thank you, Dr. Roth!

Dr. Roth repaired my totally torn left rotator cuff exactly 3 years ago(The Monday after the 2009 NYC marathon).When I first saw Dr. Roth and he reviewed my MRI he said "Jeff you've got issues" Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Yet he also said that after surgery my left shoulder would actually be better than my non-surgically repaired right shoulder. I asked how - he said over the years the bone builds up which limits motion. During the rotator cuff surgery he also shaves the bone to increase mobility. Three years later I can honestly say thank you Dr. Roth. I really do have greater mobility in my left shoulder. Proof of the pudding is try scratching an itch just below the shoulder blade in the middle of your back. I can reach my left arm behind my back above both shoulder blades which I cannot do with my right arm. I found Dr. Roth to be very caring and willing to answer all my questions. His staff, especially his surgical assistant Wendy is teriffic. One note of caution. The… physical therapy after rotator cuff surgery is extremely arduous but totally necessary. It took me a full 6 plus months to regain full mobility but the PT(pain and torture) was well worth it.

I came to Dr Roth after 3 months of pain, 5 failed treatment experiments, 2 rounds of failed prescriptions and an ample amount of encouragement from my Physical Therapist.I found him to be dismissive, and quite disappointing.In our time together,I explained the pain pattern with my injury, that heat, muscle relaxants, and massage all made the pain worse, and that PT was like flying blind. I spokein detail about the joints and muscle groups involved.After a measly four minutes, he told me that I was having pain in X joint and explained to me what the joint was.I had already spoken about the joint at least 4 times in our meeting. Clearly, he heard nothing.Then he went on to prescribe PT, heat and muscle relaxants--three things that I told him were increasing my pain because we were flying blind.It was one of the most frustrating interaction with a doctor that I've had in my life.Which is saying a lot sinceI grew up around doctors... My dad's a doctor, my father in-law is a doctor and my… mother ran an orthopedic practice for a decade.Unless you have a shoulder injury (his specialty) I would recommend going elsewhere.
