Dr. Ngozi Juliet Efobi, MD

I unfortunately have been subjected to this person and her stupidity since she arrived at MVAMC. She assumes everything, constantly mis-naming medications, doesn't listen, no respect of patient. Told me chronic pain is a choice. No bedside manner or manners of any kind. If a patient comes to ask question she has conversation in hallway instead of in private. Really sad that even though many complaints have been made VA keeps her. Doesn't seem to have enough knowledge to be a Doctor.

I waited almost 4 months for a surgery and since I had a past addiction problem myself and my wife went to Dr. Efobi to get a specific post surgery pain treatment to follow. She did everything in the exam but adress the issue, she treated me like a junkie even though I have been clean for 2 years. Both bones in my leg were to be cut in half after a 12 inch plate and 15 screws were removed and she did nothing productive to come up with reasonable and realistic plan. Instead she had the surgery stopped about 30 hours before hand because my doctors had a very realistic plan that she didn't agree with. She has caused so much turmoil in my family's life and wanted to treat my pain with acupuncture and lytocain patches and keep me awake and do a local during surgery. I am having a plate and screws removed, both bones cut in half and replaced and she wants me to follow that regiment? This should be illegal. I could go into shock and die. This surgery is a high pain level surgery… but since I had a drug problem she thinks she can treat me worse than an animal. This woman needs to have her licence pulled. She is a disservice to Veterans and treats us horribly.
