Dr. Nicholas Abidi attended Ursinus College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Honors in Chemistry. He went on to receive his Medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a fellowship in Molecular Biology with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Abidi returned to the Philadelphia area for his Residency at The Rothman Insitute at Thomas Jefferson and Pennsylvania Hospitals. He completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming an associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute @ Jefferson from 1997-2000. He has practiced in the South Bay area since 2000. He has offices in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties. Dr. Abidi has served as the President of the Santa Cruz County Medical Society as well as an editor or reviewer for many peer reviewed Orthopaedic Surgery publications. He is active on many committees of the AAOS and …AOFAS. His practice focuses on lower extremity reconstructive surgery. He routinely performs minimally invasive anterior approach total hip replacement, partial and total knee replacements as well as total ankle arthroplasty. Dr. Abidi listened and answered my concerns. He provided links to info that I found helpful. I was seen right away. I found the staff, friendly, pleasant, and helpful,especially Caitlyn & Christine. I was impressed, with how organized and efficient, everyone was.

Today was a six month follow up. Got my xrays and taken to my exam room. Dr Abidi came in a short time later. He was very thorough at checking all my joints. We talked about surgery on my left knee but so far I don’t think I need it. I’ve been sticking with the PT, ice/TENS therapy and it’s working. We agreed I would come back if I start feeling pain. Love how thorough he is and his staff are at the ready. When it’s time to go forward with knee surgery I’ll be back

I really appreciate Dr Abidi because he is smart, very good at his trade and gets right down to the business of problem solving. He is clear, concise and aggressive in his approach. He doesn’t waste time. All of this and he is still very approachable. His staff is on task, friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr Abidi. I had a successful ankle replacement. I waited 10 years for someone to tell me they could fix my ankle instead of fusing it. I found Dr sanity to be that person.

I have been a patient of his for over 6 years. Every problem I had , including surgery, he provided a positive outcome. Good at dealing with patients. Great surgeon. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr Abidi is a very knowledgeable and good at what he does. I find him caring and concerned about his patients and their needs. He is easy to talk with and doesn't rush. He also makes sure his patients understand what they need done and what is needed by the patient to accomplish getting better.

Dr. Abidi has been my go-to doctor for 18 years, Yes, you have to listen FAST, but he knows his stuff and remembers everything. Trust your joints to his care. You will be happy you did! He is so SMART!

Very difficult to get an appointment. Compared my injury to someone else’s and did not give attention to my individual injury. Seemed to miss condition of injury that other medical examiners found.
