Dr. Nicholas R Birlew, DO

My family & I have been with Dr. Birlew for over 30 years. We wouldn't change him for anything. He provides excellent care, service, patience, and he listens to you. No other like Dr. B.

It is great to see a Dr. who values drop-ins rather than appointments. However you will usually wait an EXTREMELY long time for 1 to 2 minutes of the Dr's time. Average doctoring.

Completely incompetent as a family doctor. Out for every copay he can get.

Very good Dr who cares. Only problem is the wait to see him.

Dr. Berlew is awesome.

UNBELIEVABLE. Staff "processing" FMLA paperwork are RUDE and argumentative, to the point of QUESTIONING the AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE I have, or whether or not i was ever diagnosed. FOR REAL. All of this information SHOULD ALREADY BE IN MY CHART, ALONG WITH LAB WORK FROM SPECIALIST as I have been there probably 12 times in 2 years, and DISCLOSED ALL of my medications and my DISEASE (which compromises my immune system). I paid the $25 FMLA fee right from the start, and they require me to come see the Doctor AGAIN. The DR was CLEARLY irritated that I was there for FMLA paperwork!! He tells me he will approve the forms and they would be ready the next day. NOW THE STAFF says that the doctor "sometimes does that" and they can't complete them for an UNDIAGNOSED condition that they don't treat me for??!!! WTH? CAN THEY GOOGLE what happens with R.A. - hello bronchitis, stomach digestive problems, nodules, colds?? ALL of the things they have seen me for!!! Should I REALLY NEED to… tell them ALL OF THIS?? I wait patiently EVERY TIME no matter what, never complain, always try to be positive.......and NOW that I NEED FMLA 1-3 times a year to PROTECT MY JOB I am treated like I am lying pain in the backside. WHAT THE ???? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???

Great urgent care facility. He also runs a family practice there.

Not a fan of no appointments but beyond that inconvenience he is wonderful

If you have a cold or sinus infection.... Fine..... Anything further..... Don't go! Really, it needs to be an urgent care ONLY! Not a family practice as well! Spray and pray when it comes to meds, doesn't explain things to you just in and out.

I highly recommend against seeing Dr. Birlew. He is rude and does not seem to care at all for the patient and their needs. He works in an urgent care office so the wait time is tremendous - I waited 2.5 hours - and he spent very little time with me. The staff were so concentrated on talking between themselves that they were little help to any of the patients, to the point of being rude. During my visit Dr. Birlew made several comments such as ,"Even beautiful women have ugly feet" and "You are definitely not an athlete." He gave me an inaccurate diagnosis for my foot, and for my immobilizing lower back pain he ordered an X-ray which showed that I had a couple of broken vertebrae. All he told me was "It's going to hurt; take some Motrin." When I asked questions as to how this could have happened and how to fix it, he quickly brushed them off and tried to talk about my purse and taking vacations! After trying desperately to get some answers, he finally gave me a small (urine… sample) bottle half full of some of his private stash of prescription strength Motrin and a list of stretches. The one positive I am taking away from this horrible visit is that I can at least take the X-ray to someone else and hope to get better care.
