Dr. Nicholas Matthew Boulis, MD

Dr. Boulis, a noted pain reduction neurosurgeon at Emory University, EXPERIMENTED on my husband like a LAB RAT! My husband Ken suffered with debilitating Trigeminal Neuralgia. Once during a pre-opp office visit, he stated aloud “should I do the ethical thing?” During tele-visits he’d often forget what needed to be discussed. During my husband’s first surgery and when he was supposed to be attending to my husband, I saw him instead walking in the corridor on his cell phone. He was directing an intern on a neuro-stimulator implantation procedure. Sadly NONE of the 3 surgical procedures he oversaw worked and only worsened my poor husband’s misery. If you are considering Boulis, please reconsider and choose another doctor. Boulis, while trying to be charming, is instead cruel and very arrogant. He is more concerned with making a name for himself than helping his patients. He simply doesn’t seem to care. Boulis acted like a sadist and made my husband’s last days very miserable.

Dr. Boulis is worth the wait! He has a fantastic bedside manner and spends lots of time with you to understand and explain. He completed a very successful Thoracic Outlet Syndrome release on my daughter. She is on the spectrum and he took extra time and care to be sure her case was handled with the utmost of care. I highly recommend him!!

I am from Pooler GA and had given up hope on my pain until I met Dr Boulis he changed my life. I have a implanted stimulator now that helps so much. He took the time to go over things with me and all my options when no one in Savannah Ga could do anything. I had seen 2 other Drs before making the trip to Emory. My daily pain had me so depressed and I had given up all hope all together until my stimulator I only wish Id met Dr Boulis sooner. Dr. Boulis has twice treated me for trigeminal neuralgia. He is an excellent doctor. My nerve pain is gone at this time. I would go to him again if needed.

I saw Dr. Boulis in 2012 for trigeminal nerve pain from which I had suffered for about 20 years. He performed a balloon compression on the nerve and I have been pain free for more than 7 years. He is excellent!

We highly recommend Dr. Boulis to anyone with a neurological need. He was a life-saver to my mother. She suffered great pain with Trigeminal Neurolgia and my sister and I happened to find him via the internet. He was only accepting patients by case and luckily, we were chosen. In addition, other doctors we had seen would not consider any treatment due to my mom's age. However, Dr. Boulis had no reservations taking on our case. She has now had two surgeries and both a great success. We appreciated his candor and personal attention to our needs and felt very secure with our experience and his expertise. Overall, Dr Boulis is an amazing brilliant surgeon. I had a really abnormal tumor in my spinal cord the size of a pear that he removed . He described it as like a rats nest of nerves wrapping around it. I have no secondary effects which is amazing that i didn't walk away with some sort of permanent damage somewhere. He is a forward thinking surgeon liking to use state of the art technology. It was a very painful surgery to recover from but his staff was so caring and he used this new technique to help with pain management. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Boulis. He is worth the wait!

In May 2012, Dr. Boulis operated on me at Emory Clinic for symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia. This surgery was very successful and I'm glad that I had access to such a skilled surgeon. I have never taken the opportunity to thank him, but am very grateful to him.
