Dr. Ross was born in New York City, NY and graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University. He was awarded his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in Philadelphia, he completed his internship in medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and dermatology residency at the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. After graduating, he was recruited as faculty at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was promoted to Assistant Professor of Dermatology. In this role, he devoted a significant portion of his time to oversee resident physicians’ clinical training in addition to caring for his own patients.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, lifetime member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society and member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society, Dr. Ross is active in the community. He has published dozens of …peer-reviewed articles/chapters in medical journals and textbooks and has lectured as an invited speaker at local, national and international conferences regarding his research.
His practice interests include psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea and hairloss. He performs skin cancer prevention examinations and skin cancer surgery. He is a world leading expert in the diagnosis and management of Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris. He also does cosmetic treatments with lasers, fillers and neurotoxins. He also speaks two languages and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Ross’ true joy comes from his family. He moved to Chapel Hill with his wife and two young children in December 2023. Together, they enjoy hiking, playgrounds, watching trains go by and going to the library.
