Dr. Nicole Anna Kieffer, DO

I've been in the care of Dr Kieffer for 6+ years. She cares, she listens and answers question without a rush or hurry. I hold Dr kieffer in the highest regard. She's highly competent and caring. It was challenging getting accepted(for me) as a new patient, but well worth the effort

I have had two visits with Dr Kieffer, my latest being a follow up a week ago. I have found her to be not only knowledgeable and a good listener but above all someone with empathy, reassuring and has that basic human quality one should expect in a health care provider. I wish all my encounters with other physicians were similar.

I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis for nearly 20 years, and Nicole is hands down the best that I've seen. She is incredibly knowledgable, competent and empathetic. She has been my rheumatologist for the past two years. My rheumatoid is very aggressive, so it is critical to be able to have open and honest conversations about a range of treatment options. I appreciate that Nicole listens to me, explains pros and cons of different options, and gives recommendations to enable me to make a clear and informed choice.

The Dr. had prepared by reading my chart ahead of appointment and had an accurate diagnosis in mind, along with a treatment plan. She ordered labs to see if treatment was safe for me and scheduled follow visit to review labs.

First time vist. Terrible. Had her mind made up before she saw me. Wouldn't listen or respond to questions or concerns. Would not go back.

The first time I saw her she was very short, wouldn't look me in the eyes and told me i probably had a autoimmune disease but that she doesn't like to put labels on things. to come back in a year and we will do more test then. less than a year latter my primary care provider read her notes from my chart to me where she said she suspected Lupus and that she discussed that with me. Which she never had. agains my own better judgement I went back to her because my primary care provider was concerned about recent symptoms and he felt that i would be more frustrated trying to start all over again with another Rheumatologist. She was over twenty mins late, wouldn't let me talk, told me my edema was likely due to allergies. she said i had no inflammation, even though i told her my joints were so stiff i could barely move them and i could feel the fluid in my knees, feet and knuckles. she said she would call me with the test results which she never did, even though they showed significant… inflammation and a high platelet count. when I read my notes they were not accurate of the visit. First she claimed to have spent 40 mins with me, which was less that 20. she claimed she spent more than 50 % of her time talking to me about my conditions, (she handed me a pamphlet on fibromyalgia and told me to read about it.) she said started to cry when talking about chronic pain....I started to cry because she would not listen to me and why i was there in the first place. or the fact that she was the 3rd dr i had seen in the last two weeks about the Adema that was so bad i can barely walk or bend my joints. I will never go back to her again and can not stress enough how awful of an experience it was. I would not recommend her to anyone ever.
