Dr. Nicole D Prosperie, MD

We are new to the area and had been advised that Dr. Prosperie had delivered a friend and she was "o.k." and therefore perhaps a good OB & GYN physician so we, without really knowing much, went to see her. First of all, the appointment scheduling process was difficult as they wanted to know if we had "insurance." YES, we have "insurance." Apparently they do not like to see anyone who does not have "insurance," (which we later discovered means that if you have Medicaid for your pregnancy, you are treated like a homeless bum and they will look down to you because you are apparently not good enough for their care). So, when we got there, and Dr. Prosperie realized that we did have medicaid, she had to go check to see if they had already seen their "limit" of medicaid patients before she could even see us (mind you, we had already waited almost two hours in their waiting room and then another 45 minutes in the exam room). So, after all of that, Dr. Prosperie's nurse (Prosperie did not even… come back to see us after she rudely dismissed us because of our Medicaid status) returns to the room and tells us that their group had already seen too many medicaid patients for the month and that we had to LEAVE!! seriously... leave. Like, GET OUT of their office!! This was the most surreal experience that I have ever had in my life. I've always had private insurance, but not maternity insurance (we were not planning on getting pregnant and having maternity coverage is an added expense) so I've never had this insurance situation occur. After being kicked out of the Thibodaux Womens Center clinic, with the additional insult that we were not wanted, I spent some time talking to my co-worker who had given me Dr. Prosperie's name and we discovered that she's not particularly the most friendly person. She's had multiple issues with bad outcomes with deliveries and she did not even go to an American medical school (she became a doctor in Mexico or some third world country where anyone can get a medical degree). There have been cases where she is being sued because she had babies die that resulted from bad decisions she made during deliveries. She has lost her license to deliver babies on multiple occasions, but for some reason she is able to keep seeing patients as part of her Thibodaux Womens Center group!! I don't know how this is possible. Sorry for the long-winded review, but as a first-time pregnant 'mom' I am emotional and disturbed by her cavalier attitude. As we were sent away from her office (because we did not have commercial insurance - which goes to say that they are strictly in this for money and they don't really care) we actually passed by her and saw her and tried to say "thanks" but she PURPOSEFULLY looked away from us and would not even acknowledge that we had just seen her (after we had spent nearly three hours in her office). Obviously our time is not as important as her time. She has a superiority complex. We are now seeing a doctor literally right down the street from her office and we could not be happier. Avoid this doctor at all costs. Of course, if you have commercial insurance she might treat you like a human being, but after learning about all of her educational insufficiencies and her bad outcomes with deliveries, I imagine that she would be the most dangerous doctor to choose to deliver your baby.

Delivered both of my children and has such an ease in demeanor for first time moms. Super easy to talk to about any and all!

She's nice but she doesn't put in her time. Instead of trying to run tests and find the causes of my issues, she just prescribed me meds as a temporary fix and didn't even explain anything to me.

she delivered my daughter after we had a scare with another dr and she made everything so much more calming and explained everything. Friendly and caring person!

Awesome doctor !!! Provides for her patients in a professional manner and is always willing to go the distance when necessary !!!

About to have my second surgery with her and I wouldn't trust anyone else! She has an excellent staff!!!!

She delivered my sisters first baby. She was the most uncaring Dr. I have ever seen. I have had 2 babies delivered by another doctor and had exceptional experiences with both She was extremely rude, and the most uncompassionate doctor. She made her birthing experience very poor. I would not recommend her to anyone. The only thing she was worried about was going home!!!!!
