Dr. Nilanee Antonette Karikaran, MD

I saw Dr. Karikaran in January. She was brief in her evaluation and more interested in non-neurological issues. I was diagnosed with severe restless leg and given a prescription. I was able to get a second opinion in February. I was told in the initial appt. I likely had MS. My diagnosis was confirmed March 13th. Thankful I listened to my gut and not Dr. Karikaran.

I felt that my visit was a waste of time. She was not at all prepared and obviously had not taken the time to look at my records and test results I provided. She looked at the MRI disc and her impressions did not match those of the Mayo Clinic Neurologist. I did not learn anything new; she indicated I was on the right path which I already knew. Because I had a very difficult time understanding some of her speech, I did not pursue other questions which I had intended to. I was glad to leave and won't be going back.

Very impressed with this doctor, Spends the time and answers question. Explained my condition , and options for treatment , Even sent me for a second opinion to Emory, the doctor there said she had done a through exam and testing and agreed with her diagnosis. She has been treating me for two years , could not be happier.

Did not acknowledge existing diagnosis. Deferred to completely different diagnosis that did not match any symptoms. Unwilling to discuss. Billed for office visits that never happened! A nightmare

I saw her several years ago and was so grateful that she took time with me, scheduled test and found the problem. I again, am having some problems and have made an appointment to see her again. I read the review from the person that said she was on call after an accident. Can't believe if the dr in ER told her that these symptoms were present she would say nothing was wrong with him. I wasn't there and don't know the whole story.

Dr K is treating my mother for alzheimers and I could not ask for a more compassionate Dr. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a neurologist.

I was very satisfied with this doctor and her staff. The office is very efficient in getting you in and scheduling tests and follow ups. The doctors is very personable and takes her time to explain the issue and the treatments in detail. I have been seeing her for almost an year and do not have a single complaint.

I was referred to this Dr. by my general practitioner, after trying 3 medicines for my migraines . I was very skeptical at first as I had seen 2 other neurologists prior to this. She spent more than 45 minutes with me on my first appointment went through all the scenarios I was having headaches. Ordered an MRI of my neck , and found out that my problem was, sent me to see a neurosurgeon who fixed by problem, and I have not had any headaches for the last 6 months. I am glad I listen to my GP and went to see her, she spends the time, ask lots of questions and gets to the bottom of the problem. Explains what is wrong in layman's terms , very approachable. Excellent bedside manners. The office staff is very easy to work with as well.

Was sent to see this doctor by my general doctor after I had gone to see to another neurologist in the area who completely disregarded my symptoms and chalked it up to stress and depression. When I expressed my dissatisfaction o my general doc she referred to me to see Dr. K and assured me I would be very satisfied, Boy was she right!! Like many other review here, I had a great experience and after few visits and some tests we have got to the bottom of what was wrong with me she has been treating me for the last 2 months with complete cure of my symptoms . She is very pleasant and approachable. Very thorough in her approach , and has excellent bedside manners. I would recommend her to anybody without any hesitation.

I was referred to her by my orthopedist and really liked this doctors and her approach to my problems. She explained what was wrong gave me the option to treat it and arranged for me to get the treatment in a very professional manner and was yet very kind and considerate of cost and other issues. Very approachable and pleasant. I have recomaned her to to family member who also had very good experiences.
