I left Canada to escape the terrible doctors there (expat). She is good with children but she doesn’t listen. She said oh your baby looks great, lungs sound good she seems well. Even though she has been suffering for just about 2 months straight she is not going to look into her throat or run a single test and refuses to try antibiotics because she is convinced my baby has a viral infection because bacterial infections get worse and worse maybe with a high fever.. But another senior doctor had prescribed antibiotics which I didn’t refrigerate because I wasn’t told to. Here we are the next day, baby won’t eat, crying all day, coughing, nose dripping so much the skin underneath is raw and now she’s tugging on her ears. The office visit is a snapshot but when a parent says a baby is suffering too much doctors should listen. And run some tests. Practice medicine as it were and not like antibiotics are opioids. I don’t want my child to take medication if it won’t work obviously. … Trying an antibiotic after two months seems reasonable and and why not let the parent make the decision about what’s best in the long run for their child’s immune system. Anyways, I can’t stand doctors who don’t listen to patients (or their parents) disregard the parents’ wishes entirely because they know better and the diagnosis is merely opinion and not fact.
