Dr. Nnemka Ijeoma Ekwueme-Sturdivant

I saw Dr Sturdivant on 10/15/2025. Per her instruction, I returned for lab work on 11/6 and scheduled a follow up visit on 4/15/2026. Dr. Sturdivant followed up to my lab work on 1/31/2026. Almost 3-months later! In writing she expressed urgency that I again have lab work before my May (?) appointment. This doctor let 3-months pass knowing I need a change to my current prescription. Knowing I had a surgery scheduled in November and have other concerns. Knowing but not caring. Hopefully, Novant will address this occurrence.

I have been seeing Dr. Sturdivant for over 5 years and am so pleased with the excellent service she and her staff provide. I love that we now have the ability to see test results online and I have actually sent questions to Dr. Sturdivant via the online tool and they were prompt with responding. Dr. Sturdivant is all around an excellent doctor and has comforting bedside manner.

They are not forthcoming with information. I recieved a call from Dr Sturdivant with results from a biopsy when i was at home sick. I had given them my cell phone and they didnt use it. I called the next AM when i got the message, no one would answer the phones. I did not recieve a call back from them for 2 days. I called 5 times, and it tooks them 2 days before i could get the results. The doctor was in the office during this time. My first appointment i also waited for 2 hours to be seen. They have recommended multiple expensive procedures with out indicating anything about insurance not covering them. Dr Sturdivant is extremely quiet and will only answer questions that you ask her. Dont expect her to tell you anything, you have to do your own research and have good questions. She will answer them accurately.

My experience with this office is that, unless the patient is in the office and the doctor is getting paid, there is no contact with the patient. I learned of very bad lab results via mail and, when I called the office and left a message to have the doctor call me after getting the results (because I was so distressed at the results), I got no call back until I threatened to leave the practice. When someone finally did call me, I was told that I had not left a detailed-enough message, so they decided not to return my phone call. I had to instruct the doctor on what medication I should be on. I went back one more time and did not get the results of my labs until one month later, again through the mail. As expected, on the medicines that I requested, My A1C went down significantly.

She has a comforting essence about her. You feel as if she's a friend as well as doctor. Easy to talk to. Not "I'm the King" attitude that so many doctor's have. She listens.

I have been very pleased with Dr. Sturdivant's levl of professionalism. She takes time to answer all of my questions and genuinely cares.
