Dr. Nora Clemons Royer, MD

If there were negative stars to give, I would do a -4.5 Adequate surgeon from my experience, but a completely wretched physician. Thoughtless, verbally and physically abusive, dishonest on records, she contradicted 3 other doctors that had seen me for the same condition the same day. I have written to University of Iowa as well as Mercy CR to have notations made that she never be allowed to treat me again under any circumstances. She saw me 6 days after my procedure, but was gone from Mercy in less than two weeks post-op. I wouldn't send someone I hated to be treated by her, much less a loved one. I would say the only people she should be allowed to work on is the dead, but her gross untruths in her medical notes would be ethically questionable for even that. Nobody should have this woman inflicted upon them.

I waited for 1.5 hours in the exam room before Dr. Royer showed up. Then I got three minutes of her time to be told yes you do have a hernia but I do not recommend surgery at this time. Okay I hope it does not rupture

Dr. Royer is compassionate, kind, skilled, patient and extremely professional. Would recommend her to anyone

I had surgery at Mercy hospital in Cedar Rapids. Dr. Royer was very professional, answering all my questions and concerns. I don't remember it but she was very kind to my spouse on the day of surgery as well. I feel much better! I would recommend her to anyone that needs a surgeon.

This doctor is caring, professional, astute, and extremely skilled. The hospital is so lucky to have her, excellent physician

Dr. Royer fixed my gallbladder. She took extra time in explaining things to me and my family. I would recomend her to any of my friends or family. She is a great doctor.
