Dr. Norman Mervyn Gordon, MD

During my appointment Dr. Gordon did not listen. He ignored all my symptoms and even laughed at what my other physicians wanted to rule out. I was not taken seriously at all and he could not get me out of the office fast enough. It was not worth waiting months for the appointment.

Imagine experiencing new headache symptoms, visual disturbances, vertigo, fatigue, dizziness and nausea Only to be told there’s nothing a neurologist can to to help you. And he didn’t even do one test or see me more than once. I was diagnosed via MRI less than 2 weeks later by a competent physician as having had a stroke!! And Gordon knew I was susceptible to them because of my pre existing condition. Do NOT see this highly overrated self absorbed jerk especially if you have a rare disease. You have been warned

I was referred to this doctor for evaluation by my ortho MD as they were struggling to make a diagnosis for my condition/group of symptoms. I was mainly referred for one specific disorder to which his response was something like, “I don’t really believe this condition exists”. It does exist, and it’s laughable when doctors think they’re so experienced that they’re above anatomical science. He was nice for the most part but clinically very dismissive, hasty and unhelpful. I never received a call back from their office either- not even to say that they don’t feel they can help at this time, which I would’ve accepted. His physical assessment was poor and I don’t believe he even read any of my records. As a registered nurse, I took it into my own hands and after thorough examination and testing I was able to have surgery in Boston last week where I was correctly diagnosed and treated for this NEUROGENIC disorder. So far my near debilitating symptoms have improved. I had my first rib… removed as well as a pec minor tenotomy, neurolysis and scalenectomy. Be your own advocate and always seek other opinions or modes of treatment when you can, because passing the buck is a common move in the medical industry.

The first thing I noted about Dr. Gordon was how smart he was. He's perceptive, thorough, quick and to the point. You can rely on this man even though he may, at first, seem overly confident. He's just super intelligent and thoughtful.

I have been seeing Dr Gordon for 21 years for MS. He had become my friend and had always taken the very best care of me.

Have been seeing Dr. Gordon for 7 months for Transverse Myelitis. Very little if any treatment plan or helpful analysis. Waited 3 months to even begin treatment of high dose oral corticosteroids with no results. Delayed to perform CSF spinal tap until 6 months after being struck down. That's about all that has been done to date other than the MRI's that keep coming back clean. Finally came to a road block where he doesn't know exactly what to do but wait and see. When I question him for details on treatment plan and approach he transfers me to "a highly trained and capable colleague" who took all of 12 minutes to speak with me before he begins telling me it's all in my head. Sounds like someone is putting more effort into circling the wagons, and not trying to treat their patient.
