This was my first visit with Dr. Levine and I was satisfied. Dr. Levine is a very good listener and was able to tell me, in layman's terms, just exactly what my condition was. What a relief!! My first impression of Dr. Levine is one of trust. Dr. Levine has my recommendation.

Knowledgeable, yet not personable, not a good listener and very arrogant.

Dr. Levine is an EXCELLENT dermatologist. He was recommended to us by other doctors because that is who they choose to go to. His manner may be off-putting for some. He is very skilled and doesn't need or want to hear much explanation, but only needs to see the problem area, so for some people he may seem abrupt. He is superb at diagnosing, treating and following up with you. He will even do follow up by email. He is awesome.

Until today I had never met such a rude Dr. with zero bedside manner. He hardly spent any time with me and wouldn't answer any of my questions just kept saying what is your pharmacy. I will go out of my way not to recommend this Dr.

I've seen 7-10 dermatologists because I've moved and I have a history of basal cell carcinoma. My father has had three cases of melanoma so I am very careful. At my appt with Dr. Levine, I asked for a whole body check. He was extremely perturbed by my request. Other Drs have done this in a systematic and professional way. I'd lie on my back covered by a sheet or gown. The Dr would expose my rt arm & chest, abdomen, rt leg, and top of my foot, uncovering and covering me as he/she went. Then the left side. Afterwards I would turn over and the Dr would do the same thorough check on my back, etc. My face, hands and forearms were examined closer while sitting up. Dr. Levine had me stand up with a paper sheet that immediately tore open. I wasn't able to cover myself, though the assistant tried getting me another sheet. When I sat down (still not covered up) he looked at my hands, neck, arms and face. I pointed out places I was worried about that looked exactly like the basal cell… carcinomas I'd had before. He just said, "That's nothing. That's nothing. That's nothing. Etc." When he left the room he said, "There's nothing wrong with you." It was good news, but he hadn't asked about my history or anything else. I didn't trust his opinion. I cried in the room before I left because I felt stupid, a burden, a waste of time, a hypochondriac, and like an animal covered with skin he inspected for disease. No disease; no interest. Maybe I'm spoiled. My first dermatologist was head of the department at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He volunteered at our university health center once a week. He did a full body exam. He removed a small spot on my forehead and one on my back. One was cancerous. He was very courteous and explained what he found. Dr Levine has a reputation for finding cancers, but if I had to see him another time, well, that won't happen. Thanks to the others who reviewed him. It's a relief I'm not alone in my opinion.
