Dr. Norman Jay Marcus, MD

Dr. Marcus is one of the finest physicians that I’ve ever seen. I consider myself lucky to have found him. His entire office staff was also excellent.

He avoids complicated spinal surgeries, new technology to place in the body and all he did for a chronic pain due to spine surgery was his knowledge of muscle anatomy way beyond what medical students receive. He has patented a piece of equipment that tells him where the pain is coming from and the deep muscle matter, in which he injects just a needle with nothing in it to regenerate nerve muscle fibers!!!! He is an absolutely brilliant and a caring doctor who is passionate about his work! Cannot find a better pain management doctor because he puts no band aids on pain but cures the source of the pain.

Wanted to do expensive laser treatments for scoliosis saying it was muscle pain. He never read MRI report. No insurance company will ever consider this treatment viable since there has never been any research for this type of procedure outside his office.

I went to see Dr. Marcus for suspected EDS and chronic widespread joint and muscle pain. He was very thorough. He took a very detailed medical and family history and asked questions no one had ever asked me and then performed a very detailed medical exam. He explained everything so that I could understand everything, which made me cry because I was finally hearing answers as to why I was feeling and experiencing everything I was going through. He really listened and developed a treatment plan specifically for my conditions and my needs that addressed not only my pain but also my other conditions that are often seen with hEDS. He also follows up to make sure everything is going well and his staff is amazing. There is also a practicing cardiologist in his office so I was able to see the cardiologist the same day to do my ECHO and ECT so if anything needed to be addressed we could have developed a plan with both doctors working together

I have ehlers-danlos syndrome and was headed for a wheelchair a few months down the line. I had done a number of things over the years: physical therapy, platelet injections, acupuncture and diet change. The physical therapy worked for a while and then it didn't. The platelet injections worked for a while and then they stopped. My knees even failed aqua therapy with a physical therapist who specialized in EDS. I was several months away from living my life in a wheelchair when I flew to New York from the west coast to see Dr. Marcus. After the first treatment, I saw a dramatic Improvement that evening. My right knee was no longer stiff. It cracked less. It was loose, like a normal knee. After 3 weeks of treatments on my knees, I will fly back home and start the strengthening exercises that I could not do before. I intend to go back in a few months to have him finish up the rest of the muscles in my body that need injections. There will be many to treat as ehlers-danlos syndrome causes… pain in all or most of the joints. It is my goal not end up in the intense chronic pain that accompanies this condition. With dr. Marcus is help, I know I can achieve this. I cannot recommend him enough. He is a magician.

Used various narcotics and opioids to treat chronic pain. Not a solution but a bandage that does not cure the initial problem.

Dr Marcus is an intelligent and practical Doctor. I saw many doctors but didnt find relief until meeting dr Marcus. Finding the true cause of the pain is where dr Marcus excels. He is also honest about what to expect and how to manage chronic pain. Absolutely worth a consult if you suffer from chronic pain.

Dr Marcus DOES NOT prescribe tons of narcotics- that is an out & out lie. He is not that type of Doctor. Where most pain mgt doctors load you up, he tries to find the cause in soft tissue.

Had to go through withdrawal of several medications after seeing Dr Marcus.
