Unprofessional and disrespectful. Made demeaning comments to patient (my partner) during medical procedures and claimed he was joking. I could describe a seku hara experience I had with this doctor in a pre-op room while my partner was in the bathroom, but that explicit content is not allowed.

This doctor is unprofessional, disrespectful,, and makes demeaning comments to patients and then claims he was joking. I would describe an SH experience I had with this doctor in a pre-op room while his patient (my partner) was in the bathroom, but that content is not allowed. This doctor is very skilled at DARVO. Run don't walk to another provider at different facility.

Very disrespectful, rude man! told me to not speak for my husband, as his wife never had any physician say that, or make me feel as if i should speak. My husband is a Arabic speaker, he doesn't articulate very well but knows English very well. He is shy speaking and can't explain things well. Says to me if you won't let him speak we need to cancel this appointment and schedule an interpreter" "so he can speak for himself" little did he know I speak arabic very well. Wasn't gonna say that to him, at the point I was finished with him!! That wasn't the problem, my husband has anxiety in both languages and prefers me to speak for him always as i know him best! We are husband and wife and he totally disregarded that fact, I found him to be bery rude and hostile. My husband was scared of the much needed cancer screening for his bladder problems,the procedure inserts a tube. that terrified him, traumatized from the catheter he had for his appendectomy surgery. So my husband began to… protest it a lil. mr. Shapiro said to me immediately "I can't force him to do the procedure" as his wife I was there for exactly that, to make sure my husband doesn't die of bladder cancer as his father did at a young age. the reason the appointment was made for us is his mri showed thickened bladder wall. It was recommended at the time of discharge for his appendectomy surgery. How dare you give a scared patient in need of care a easy way out!! "I can't force him" a much needed procedure that is life saving he tried to give my husband easy way out of it instead of reasuring him and giving the options! Asked him to leave the room and send our doctor doctor Weiner in, I was done with him! Never did this man try to be kind, or respectful, he never calmed his fear by saying that he could be put to sleep for the procedure! On the way out shook his head and raised his voice at me and said "Whatever" in a very sarcastic tone. How very unprofessional of him! Dr. Weiner came in kind and smiling, apologized on shapiro's behalf. Kindly reasured my husband and told him he could elect to have it down while sleeping/sedated. My husband heard that and immediately agreed to do it, fear gone! Just got back from the procedures and all 3 nurses on staff said he's very difficult.

This Doctor took the time to answer all of my questions before surgery and after. Also did great follow up work to see that everything was ok. He is a great Doctor that is why I am giving him a five star rating.

Easy manner. Explains everything at a level a person of average intelligence can understand. Presents realistic choices when discussing your options. Does not try to push services just for the sake of generating more income for his practice. One of the best doctors I've dealt with in years. Light years ahead of the dr I left behind at Water St
