Dr. Olga Elizabeth Swanson, MD

I scheduled my appointment online for the first time and have questions so I called the office, the staff who picked up my call was so rude that didn't even let me finish my talking and she was not trying to help me out. I wanted to give it a try after hearing my friend's good commend about Dr. Swanson, but I decided to cancel my appointment right away after the call. I believe they should hire better staffs.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Swanson, she is very attentive, very knowledgeable, and very competent. However, sometimes all that just isn't enough to deal with non responsive or aloof staff. I've been a patient for several years and after being very selective about my healthcare provider have become discouraged by the interaction or lack there of with her office staff. If you call to speak to the nurse or the doctor it is because you have an issue or you seek medical attention. I especially do not call just to call. If I strike out multiple times, then chances are I am not going to continue on this path. What a shame that good doctors lose patients because their vision for their practice does not line up with that of their front reception staff.

I am a new patient to your clinic and unfortunately, that is the last appointment I will have with your clinic â?? primarily due to your staff. On first visit, I was refused the HIPPA form â?? but only given the last, signature page of the form. When I asked for it (because I canâ??t sign something stating that I have read and understood it without having received it) I was not given the form but instead given an excuseâ?¦â??but itâ??s 8 pages long and we would have to print it outâ??. Really?? Itâ??s illegal not to provide it. So provide it and stop complaining about the paper. Then, I had an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early to fill out any paperwork but wasnâ??t seen for 45 more minutes after my appointment time. The visit with you went well and I liked you. Then came my test results. I had pap smear and blood work for FSH and glucose. The nurses called and said everything was â??normalâ??. I was interested in the blood work results so asked for the… actual numbers. The nurse said â??I can have the doctor call insteadâ?? â?? I agreed and waited 2 days. I heard nothing so I called back asking to please speak to the doctor regarding the results and what it meant. I told the lady that I had test results return and wanted to know what they meant for me. Instead of asking â??what is your nameâ?? she asked â??what is the patientâ??s nameâ??? We had been talking a while. We are people and that is insulting. Iâ??m talking to her like a normal human and sheâ??s treating me as a number. Rude, unprofessional, and uncalled for. 100%. She came back online and said â??they are normal â?? the numbers are normal.â?? After probing for more information on the actual numbers she put me on hold and came back and said â??the glucose is elevated but everything else is normalâ??. What is â??normalâ??? I asked to speak to the doctor again and was denied. She said you had left for the day already (at 115pm) and would not be back until the 28th. When I logged onto my portal to get some information â?? I see that the FSH isnâ??t even returned yet. Your staff just lied to me and said it was â??normalâ??. Iâ??m sorry but this is being posted on your review sites. Itâ??s atrocious behavior of your staff. And if they delete this email without letting you read it, Iâ??m sure you get the review notifications when I post it and will read it anywayâ?¦because any future patients certainly will.
