Dr. Olivia Kimball Gillespie, DO

My mother recently saw Dr. Olivia Gillespie seeking help for a condition that has caused her significant discomfort and for which she was hoping to pursue corrective surgery. Unfortunately, her concerns did not feel heard or taken seriously during the visit. My mother explained that she had already spent years managing the condition conservatively and was no longer interested in continuing the same approach because it was not adequately addressing her symptoms or quality of life. Rather than discussing her concerns in depth or considering the recommendation of a specialist she had already consulted, Dr. Gillespie dismissed the recommendation and advised her to continue pursuing specialist care only with Drs in her network. What was especially frustrating was that a specialist had already evaluated my mother and agreed that corrective surgery was appropriate. Instead of considering that expert opinion, the recommendation was effectively disregarded, leaving my mother without a path… forward. As a result, my mother now has to find a new primary care physician, wait months for a new appointment, and continue living with unnecessary discomfort while trying to obtain the treatment she needs. The entire process has delayed her care and made an already difficult situation much more stressful. Every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and included in decisions about their healthcare. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Based on what my mother went through, I would not recommend this physician or office.

I've had three previous Medicare Advantage doctors and she's by far the best. She understands my preference to seek natural remedies rather than medication and my reluctance to have invasive procedures when simpler procedures are available. Some may not appreciate that but I do.

Been seeing Dr Gillespie for about a year from the beginning she tries to control everything about your medical care she refuses visits to specialists and takes you off a medication you've been on for years that's working fine. I was taking an antidepressant for years she decided that it was too expensive. and switched me to another antidepressant which I couldn't take because it was an SSRI. When I called CVS to see how much the prescription was that she was saying was too expensive it was 70 something dollars that the insurance company had to pay for it. Meanwhile not on my medication I fell into a very deep depression because of Dr Gillespie when I called her office to get them to represcribe it she lied and said that she told me I needed to go see it mental health provider to get it. Not the fact that I'm depressed it's not a controlled substance and she could have easily written me a prescription needless to say I switched doctors and I will be filing a formal complaint against… her

Dr Gillespie is the most unprofessional Dr have ever met. She is doesn't listen nor diagnose your condition. She quickly assumes her theory and prescribes a pill (which do nothing for the true aliment) She had me on 2 medications in conflict that could have caused a stroke. She has NO bedside manner and will do her best to prevent you from seeing a specialist. She even has the audacity to deny your request for a follow up with a specialist that is treating you. The staff is uniformed, overwhelmed, and confused. This practice is a disaster. BEWARE!!!(

I only saw her for 2 months because my prior PCP was removed from my provider list. She tried to take over my life. Would not give me sleeping pill saying it would hurt me in the future (I'm 73). She cancelled appt with my cardiologist (had open-heart surgery 6 months before) and with my ENT re: my thyroid needle biopsy results. Claimed she would be in charge of it all. She is rude, bossy and does what SHE wants and not what YOU want! My husband wouldn't even go back for his 2nd appt. Office staff is very nice except Monique who dragged out getting my appt for authorization to see opthamologist for eye injections I get monthy saying she never got the first two requests. When I needed the biopsy she said the same thing-that she only got the last of 3 requests. Time to change that story. I was given 2 different rx's for sleep med and slept 3 out of 72 hours at one point. Neither worked and one made me vomit for 3 days straight. Doc would still not give me what I asked for. They have 2… offices and once gave me an appt in Clearwater without telling me it was NOT at the office I go to. All I can say is that I have heard about 4 other parties with similar circumstances. I think she starts out with the idea that she is the boss of everything and this woman knew nothing about my cardio, spine or any other history. Tell me now, how could she possibly take control of ANYONE's healthcare? Don't we have a say? Good luck with her.
