I would trust this extremely Qualified Surgeon with my child. Hard to find this type of quality.

Dr. Barakat is a standout among many of the surgeons I have dealt with. He is thorough, genuinely cares for the patient’s best interests, and will never perform unnecessary surgeries. While he is incredibly knowledgeable, he is also kind which is a rare quality in this field. Strongly recommended him to all.

Incompetent staff. Dr. seemed friendly. Other than having meet the Dr. to perform surgery and the staff could not get their schedules correct and not communicate with their patients. Dr. assured that this was an unusual situation. We tried the Dr. again after a year had passed and guess what, the same thing happened again. Therefore, the Dr.’s assurance was a lie, the staff he hires is incompetent so therefore he must be incompetent. I would stay away from anything CHI St. Luke’s and Baylor College of Medicine including this Dr. and his staff. This happening once may be an anomaly, this happening twice to the same patient in the same manner, then it is a consistent error. When I called to question the error I was promised a phone call within 5 - 10 minutes. 24 minutes later I called back, just to have the staff member hang the phone up! So this attitude just caused me to contact the State Medical Board for Incompetent Dr.'s

He is a GREAT doctor, he takes the time to go over everything with you until all your questions are answered. He is a very caring person.
