Dr. Omar Amin Turk, MD

Its been a while since I've seen Dr. Turk and I can't help but wonder why someone would write a review that isn't true. One days he's a pill pusher, the next that he doesn't support narcotics for pain. I have had extensive experience with him, for my own issues, but also attending appointments with my ex. I think that either people don't understand certain processes and others don't like the answers they are getting automatically blame Dr. Turk. When I first began seeing him, I had heard things about him and at first, because my mindset was already leaning towards the negative, then I realized how wrong I was. It was like in came in with an attitude and a closed mind as though I know more about my condition than he did. I found over time that the more I listened to him, the more I could trust him, even though it went against my grain. What I've learned is that this man does not get the credit he deserves. He is actually extremely knowledgeable and he methods actually work. Regarding… prescribing narcotics, if you're looking for a doctor who's ready with his script pad, he'll see you coming and you won't get anywhere because he does not push meds like I read in one review. He will if it will help. My ex wanted any pills he could get, but I do not want anything to do with pain pills beci need to feel my pain and not be woozy or I'll damage myself further. So while he would not under any circumstances write a scrip for my ex, he did express that he wanted to give me narcotics that I refused every time, after hearing my explanation several times and he seeing that my mind was not open to the idea, he sat down and explained to me that nerve pain is much worse when you don't get enough sleep and that even though I didn't want them he was giving me only 30 day supply and that I don't have to take them every day or at all, but he asked me to, on the nights my pain kept me from sleeping, to take one just so I could sleep, then see what it did for my pain. I realized then, in all his humble quiet approach, as he slowly urged, waiting for me to be ready, I realized that this man is a genius, but nobody gives him the chance, everybody wants to fight him on what care they will or won't accept bc they think they know better, just like I had, and I couldn't have been more wrong. This mans knowledge and patience goes far beyond the typical and I think because he is very obviously different than the Docs I had experienced, that it sat wrong with me and it made me have doubts about his ability. I was wrong. There is a definite method to his madness and there is genius in that method, you just have to give him the chance and give yourself the chance by being open to him and those methods because once I did I found relief in a profound way. This man takes a lot of grief, I'm I've seen it, I've done it, but he never quits on you. He listens very attentively and yes, he can take forever, but it's usually because he's taking his time to listen and then also try to teach the people who come to him and want to argue their treatment bc it's not what they normally get, not what they are used to having been on near identical plans with all former doctors. They are former for a reason. Once I stopped fighting him my faith in him grew and grew and I wonder how many people out there, still don't get him, and still don't realize the variety of experience and i Knowledge you get with this man. He's not handing in out the line of treatment listed in column A. He is giving a line of treatment that will best address your needs, from the root and over time given all the variables. I love this guy! He brings so much more to the table than most and works together with the same, in my experience. As for scrp refills, it's bc your calling the office, scrip refill processed changed a few years ago putting it on pharmacies. So you have to call your pharmacy for refills, if you are out, the pharmacy contacts the doctor for refills through the e system so if you go thro

Old, rude, wicked, unprofessional and intolerable. Do yourself a favor and don’t visit this man.

RUN AWAY! Omar Turk is an old rude grumpy individual that will treat you like trash and after a 4-hour wait time, you get to see him for 10 min. to be yelled at, if your case is not improving!!! He needs medical and legal attention.

Have been seeing Dr. Turk for the past 3 years. He is an excellent doctor. He is very thorough and observant to detail. I highly recommend him!

Been seeing Dr Turk for almost 3 years so needless to say gave way too many chances, from waiting extremely long time for appointment, to bad referral to another doctor to the rude staff, he never treated me just kept pushing pain meds, I would recommend keep looking for another doctor if you value your time and treatment

Wonderful doctor!

Dr. Turk was very patient with my sister who was very Stubborn at the time. Dr. Turk was very thorough and had a very calming voice. His assistant nurse was awesome.

I too have had a problem with Dr Turk being on time for appointments. Primarily I have had nothing but problems with his staff. Leaving messages for the Dr. never get relayed. Even when I go to the office to get the message though. When all I needed was my anti-convulsion meds renewed, I could not get an answer, although I was told that a note would be left for him. Took three trys and finally had to make an appointment to get my answer. Dr. Turk took me to the reception area where the receptionist flat out lied, by stating the I never left a message. Also, I had a question about the result of my EEG results (message left) and I never got an answer. It's true that he does spend time with his patients but half of the time he's telling me about his kids. Nice guy though..... I could go on.

Dr.Turk spends time with his patients and pays attention to detail. I highly recommend him.

Worst Neurologist. Had to wait over an hour for my appointment because the doctor was mot there yet. I had the first appointment of the day. The appointmet itself took almost 2 hours. The nurse that took my vitals seemed like she had no interest in my visit. Then the Doctor want to do all these different testing.
