Dr. Oren Michaeli, DO

Dr. Oren Michaeli is a board-certified general surgeon fellowship-trained in hand, peripheral nerve, and microsurgery, practicing in NYC and NJ. He performs a wide spectrum of procedures from carpal tunnel release to complex hand trauma and replantation. His expertise includes surgical treatment of regional paralysis through nerve, tendon, or muscle transfers to restore function and improve quality of life. He also treats lower extremity nerve conditions such as painful neuromas and phantom limb pain, and performs lymphatic surgeries for upper and lower limb lymphedema.

Dr. Michaeli lectures nationally and internationally and teaches cadaver-based courses in peripheral nerve surgery. He regularly collaborates with neurosurgeons, spine surgeons, plastic surgeons, and orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive care. Committed to medical accessibility, he performs pro bono peripheral nerve surgeries for patients who have exhausted all other treatment options.

Dr. Michaeli earned his DO …from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, completed general surgery residency at NYU Langone Hospital Long Island, and pursued fellowships in Hand and Microsurgery at Kleinert Kutz in Louisville, KY and in Reconstructive Microsurgery and Brachial Plexus Surgery at Ganga Hospital in India renowned for performing the highest volume of brachial plexus surgeries worldwide.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Michaeli has lectured extensively, as well as designed and taught cadaver courses on peripheral nerve surgery both in the United States and abroad. He frequently collaborates with neurosurgeons, spine surgeons, plastic surgeons, and orthopedic surgeons to ensure the best possible patient outcomes through a team approach and to continually refine his surgical skill set.
