Dr. Osama Omar Haikal, MD

The day of appointment checking in was a nightmare (receptionist) was unprofessional I arrived at 9:10am appointment time. I experienced many sub standard practices to me as a patient.I am filing a complaint with my Health Care Provider and seek others sources for my complaint.

After a year of treatment for my severe case of IBS-C that caused me to leave my job, it comes to find out I was misdiagnosed. I had a giant kidney stone developing in my right kidney and it took a full year for Dr. Haikal to order me a CT scan. A YEAR! Well, the CT scan came back with a 2.3 cm kidney stone and after TWO surgeries to remove the stone, 5 nights in the hospital & 6 total weeks of recovery, my IBS symptoms have vanished. Not only did I have this LARGE stone, I also developed a severe kidney infection & went into sepsis on the day I was first admitted to the hospital. I cannot recommend this physician for their lack of urgency to eliminate what the problem could be or was. How do you see a patient for a year who is complaining of severe abdominal pain and NOT order a CT scan to eliminate other possibilities? Negligence & incompetence is how.

Dr Haikal saw me today for a Consultation. Listened to my concerns and requested his staff to schedule me for two procedures asap. I felt very comfortable with him.

Dr. Haikal has saved my life twice now. The first time he saw me I was sicker than a dog at Sunrise Hospital. The hospital could not find out what was wrong with me. I had been so sick for so long with uncontrollable vomiting. The doctor came in and did some tests on me and immediately was able to establish I had severe peritonitis. He told me as sick as I was, at this point he didn’t care how I got it he just needed to get me over it. He did... it was a true long haul but I felt relieved and blessed to have met this doctor. I truly felt blessed as he did save me. He knows his stuff . The second time was about two years later again I became very sick and had been sick for a long time. I was in and out of the hospital and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me for the life for them. My blood was coming back somewhat normal and they were confused as what was causing me to constantly be throwing up. In the medical world I am known to the doctors as ”zebra.” My body just… doesn’t fit into the regular routine of what’s the books would evaluate me as having. After having three upper GIs at Sunrise Hospital again I finally told to lead physician to call in Dr. Haikel to help me. I was literally so sick I didn’t care whether I lived or died at this point. Dr. Haikel brought a student in and told me he would meet me downstairs to do an upper G.I. . When I woke up Dr. Haikal again told me what only he was able to find. I has a very complicated name but the bottom line is he in for me I needed to get to another hospital for an immediate liver transplant . Without one he told me I would die. Thank God for this physician. Besides his knowledge she has absolutely the best bedside manner with his patients . I am so thankful for this doctor. He is very professional and very knowledgeable and as far as I’m concerned you couldn’t be in better hands ...for what his area of expertise is. God bless Dr. Haikal... Thank you for saving me twice now. You are in good hands.

I have seen Dr. Haikal for over 6 months with a previously undiagnosed problem. He took charge and worked hard to find the problem and he was successful. Excellent listener and took time to assure me he'd help me. With so many poor Doctors in Las Vegas, you can count on him to treat you with compassion and knowledge.

Saw Dr. Haikal for the first time and was impressed. He spent a good amount of time explaining my condition. He answered all my questions and also further explained other concerns. Doctors like him are rare in Las Vegas.

Superbly qualified. VERY professional and knowledgeable. I feel totally comfortable with his knowledge and abilities.

Dr. Haikal is very thorough and takes the time to explain everything to his patients.

What a great,professional staff...Can't wait for next appt. in 5 yrs..Ha Ha
