Dr. Osama Afkar Hussein, MD

My 3 month old son was always sick and I could never get past office staff to a nurse or doctor. They would always tell me to "call back if things got worse." even if I called to say he was dehydrated and wheezing. He was hospitalized at 3 months old. After this, I made a call to a few friends for recommendations for a new pediatrician. Most recommended Dr. Hussein, so I made an appointment with him for a meet and greet. That morning I took my son to his current pediatrician and was sent on our way saying to just keep giving him liquids and tylenol and he was fine. We left that appointment for our meet and greet with Dr. Hussein. He walked in and started to give his greeting, and stopped. He asked if it would be okay if he listened to his breathing. I agreed. He listened to him and asked if I was in agreement and comfortable with him treating my child that he would like to have his staff get insurance authorization to treat my son today. If he were not to receive neb treatments… and a dose of steroids he would recommend that he go to the ER. He told me his lungs were full. I of course agreed to treatment and my son has seen him from 3 months of age until now, 8 years. I now have a 1 yo daughter and she also sees Dr. Hussein. I cannot begin to explain how thorough and caring this doctor is. He is a true caregiver. He takes his time, and makes sure that you as a parent understand what he is saying, and how to be an advocate for your child and their health. If you are looking for a pediatrician that is fully dedicated to your child's health and well being, then Dr. Hussein is that person. His office staff are also amazing, and wait times are minimal. He is now located in a private practice across from the hospital in Dover, and is no longer at Dr. Bacchus office.

He is the best doctor I ever have to my kids, he is kind and caring. My kids love him, .

Dr Hussien is my 2 sons doctor and they think he is great. I like him and always choose him when we go to the office for our appointments.

Dr Hussein is an excellent doctor. Very through in every situation. He is a great teacher to the parent and the child (young up to 13 years old). We trust and really like him and so do our children.Highly recommend!
