He's a good doctor and family man

Unprofessional. Spent less than 5 minutes in the room. Refused to listen to any of my issues or concerns. Cut me off every time I tried to speak. Told me I was a "Big Woman" Left me waiting for lab work for about 45 min, only to be told they forgot to put in my orders and the lab closed so I would need to come back.

Educator and patient oriented

Worst doctor's appointment I've ever had. Dr. Castro went straight to wanting to change my thyroid medicine without asking me any questions or doing ANY blood work. When I told him what I am on has improved my quality of life, he didn't want to hear it. He insisted his suggestion is "the best" even though it is really expensive. What is best for one person isn't best for everyone. It's obvious he is getting major kickbacks from that pharmaceutical company. I ended up walking out because he didn't care about how I felt or what I had to say. The only way I was able to get a word in was by interrupting him. I've been to numerous doctors due to my thyroid disease, and he is by far the absolute worst I have ever, ever dealt with. He even answered his personal cell and wakes out of the room during the appointment. Highly unprofessional, arrogant, and lacks compassion.

Dr >oscar Castro educated me on my diabetis and I owe him my life. He has always been good to me and always takes his time to explain how things work to me. He cares that I understand. He talks to you not at you. Thank you Dr. Castro.

I never had any problems except that at times it was hard to get an appointment, he was the only physician working at the office at the time. A new CRNP that worked with him left abruptly without notice, so I had to wait to reschedule with him. He was very caring and took the time needed when I had an appointment with him. His staff was always very courteous and extremely professional. He helped me get an insulin pump approved and his CRNP Tammie was successful getting approval from my insurance company by faxing 22 pages of medical records proving it was a medical necessity. I am sorry that he left the area and we did not get a replacement Endocrinologly or Diabetologist. Endocrine Physicians never remain in the local are very long!
