Dr. Ochoa earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2001 and completed general surgery training at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, where he conducted NIH-funded research and earned an MS in Clinical Investigation. Board-certified in General Surgery in 2010, he specialized in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UT Health Houston and MD Anderson, focusing on microvascular reconstruction. Joining PRMA in 2011, Dr. Ochoa has advanced research in breast reconstruction, lymphedema treatment, and sensory re-innervation. A bilingual FACS fellow, he is an award-winning leader in his field.

Dr. Ochoa treats you like you are his only patient. He listens to concerns and provides clear explanations. He is a perfectionist and that is what you want in your surgeon. His nursing staff is amazing as well. Very communicative and professional.

This was my first visit with Dr Ochoa and it was done by video. He had all my past records and photos. He clearly described my options for breast reconstruction and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. He explained what the next steps were to be. He was very approachable and it was easy to converse with him. It was a very Excellent visit!

Very nice dr explained everything in detail, Crystal his nurse is amazing!!! Would definitely recommend Dr Ochoa to anyone his bedside manner is what every patient needs!

Dr. Ochoa and his staff were amazing. He is a brilliantly talented surgeon and a kind, compassionate, and supportive professional. Dr. Ochoa and his entire staff conveyed calmness to me as a patient during difficult times. Based on my experience, his tone and manner with patients is excellent. He took the time to thoroughly explain procedures and options so that I and my family understood the entire process. Without reservation, I would highly recommended Dr. Ochoa and PRMA to anyone who is faced with similar decisions about their health.
