Dr. Padma Krothapalli Horvit, MD

Lazy to do a physical exam or she thinks she can get away by harping on labs, does not listen and pushes pills without considering their long term complications. Rude, reckless, condescending, insecure and incompetent.

Dr.Padma Horvit fails to listen with curiosity and therefore assumes based on little detail. The labs she pulls may look highly detailed, but her hormonal review did not include all factors including vitamin/mineral concentrations and synthesis. She strictly sticks to normal in-range values of labs for diagnosis which is not unique or actually proper for a real diagnosis. Example: I came in with odd loss of weight and concerns of libido dropping and Erectile Dysfuntion issues - my testosterone levels were on the very low side (i.e., 310ng/dl) of "in-range" so she said no issues and all psychological. She did not pull any other labs concerning iron/zinc. She stays very basic in her discovery efforts. The good reviews found on this site do not detail how these individuals believe they received quality service from a deep dive and non-basic medical care point of view. If you are looking for a doctor who breezes through her studies of your labs and stays basic, then go to… Dr.Horvit.. This is about my health and I am looking for someone who cares and unfortunately I had to do a deep dive in to my own medical labs to correlate the levels of all variables pulled and find concerns beyond her simple this is technically in-range vs what is not. To be clear, Dr.Horvit could have easily treated my low testosterone with a basic/low end HRT/TRT treatment and monitored me accordingly to see if any improvements in my health concerns without any real concerns of abnormal health reactions.

She wouldn't look any of my lab results I brought in with me because she didn't order them through her preferred place. She glanced at my paperwork and told me to stop taking everything I was on and come back in a month (if she would have listened to me and/or looked at my labs, she would have seen that some of the supplements I was on were critical -- for example, I have low vitamin B and should NOT stop taking that). When I asked what she would do if I had certain lab result she told me that she would put me on a prescription medication long term. When I asked if she had any ideas about how to look into finding the root cause in order to treat that she said no and that I'd basically be on medication for the rest of my life. When I asked how something worked she said "I'm not explaining the biology to you." I understand doctors can be rushed and don't have time to get into the details with every patient, but I want to understand what's going on with my body and if she is going to… reference something and then not be able to explain it then she's not doing her job.

Started me on insulin and never showed me how to use the pen or where to inject it. Also, didn’t tell me any side effects.

Dr. Horvit is very thorough, listens well, ordered tests to help diagnose; however, her office staff is horrible. After I learned I had two nodes discovered on the ultrasounds (one that is extremely painful) I was terrified. Her office manager told me the biopsies required prior authorization. I explained I wanted to get in as amazon as possible though I acknowledged that my insurance company can be a struggle with preauthorization. The office staff was incorrect and this procedure does not require that. I would have gone that same day or the VEY SOONEST appointment available. Staff also insisted that I haven’t met My deductible which I had met 2months ago and logged in to verify for them and the hospital and even called the insurance company again myself to verify. So after spending four hours on with the hospitals and insurance (because Dr. Horvit’s office) turns their phone system off at 1 PM on Monday?! and didn’t bother to respond or schedule—or let patients know if they have… scheduled and spoken to the insurance company—To learn that no pre-authorization was required! The unfortunate thing is that I highly recommend Dr. Horvit but you have to deal with her office staff which is truly an awful experience. I haven’t yet decided if it’s worth how good a doctor is to still have to deal with her staff. Ironically even after all of this her office staff wasted the time to call the hospital and tell them that she thought there would be an issue with us paying because we would have to pay like $400 upfront shockingly enough I haven’t met my deductible and will be paying $35 upfront for the procedure which I was actually able to schedule sooner myself. If you can find an exceptional Endocrinologist with a competent staff I highly suggest you avoid all of the headaches caused by our experience here.

I agree with every bad rating on here. She is a very angry person. Don’t waste your time. Find another doctor.

I am thyroid patient. I am done after the first visit ?? I am waiting for my thyroid blood report from 7 days . I am calling them but every time they told me we will call you soon with results. And today i called and again they told we will call you back . They called me and told me doctor was on vacations. We have lots of patients to check today and we don’t know what day we will call you for blood results. If you are on vacations and now you are too busy its your problem man i need my results. If you give my results than i can start my medication. I am not going back to her . Its my mistake I should check her reviews before visiting her. Money and time wasting.

Dr. Horvit is a meticulous, caring physician that really knows her specialty and provides excellent treatment for type II diabetes.

Dr. Horvit is an extremely capable and friendly doctor who has a genuine concern regarding her patients. I have been seeing Dr. Horvit for several years and would give her the highest recommendation.
