Dr. Pamela Blanks Cavanaugh, MD

Ten years ago, as a new patient, Dr Pamela Cavanaugh was highly recommended. I was impressed with her patient centered focus, depth of knowledge and expertise, as well as commitment to preventive medicine. However, I am now bitterly disappointed. My annual wellness appointment was cancelled a week prior to the date, due to the doctor being out of office. Although having been a patient of Dr Cavanaugh for ten years, I am UNABLE to have the appointment rescheduled in a timely manner. I am told that she has an opening in 5 months. 5 months! I am at an age where annual wellness appointments are best practice for seniors. Undiagnosed conditions can have more serious impacts. Thus, I am disheartened that Carolina Internal Medicine and Dr. Pamela Cavanaugh have apparently lost the focus of patient centered care. Preventive health should be valued over reactive health (treatment of conditions that have magnified, rather than identified early onset). Treating the sick is obviously… more profitable!

Dr. Cavanaugh has been my physician for as long as I've been in Asheville, and she's just the best. She listens and responds to questions or concerns. She's a great diagnostician and knows how to get the best results for me. She's always pleasant and concerned. She was highly recommended when I came to Asheville, and continues to be so in my experience.

She spends time getting know you and address your issues and concerns, by establishing goals for my care. The staff are super nice and helpful

Dr. Cavanaugh and the staff at Carolina Internal Medicine are absolutely exceptional individuals. Dr. Cavanaugh is very intelligent and personable. I have been going to this practice for many, many years and have had no complaints. She helped me with a terrible mandibular problem that a local specialist could not. They also have a walk-in clinic for established patients for acute issues. Their PA's and support staff are excellent as well.

Doctors and staff over extended. Too many patients in this practice. Lots of errors made by staff due to this problem.
