Dr. Papa W. De La Cruz, MD

If I could give zero stars, I would. This practice is extremely poorly run. Nearly every interaction I’ve had, whether with the front desk, medical assistants, or nursing staff, has been unprofessional & frustrating. I was repeatedly given conflicting information, & when I pushed back by referencing what another staff member had told me, I was treated as if I were lying & met with defensiveness & rudeness. I am transferring care due to serious concerns with both the providers & overall management. I was seen very frequently throughout my pregnancy due to being high risk, so these experiences were NOT isolated. During my prenatal care, I saw Papa Win DelaCruz multiple times. Despite my frequent visits, she often forgot who I was & the details of my case, rushed through every appointment, & provided little opportunity for questions or meaningful discussion. Post c-section, I was seen by Natasha Harvey. My delivery was an emergency at five weeks early, & my baby was in the NICU. I gave… birth the week of Thanksgiving, & during this extremely vulnerable time, Natasha was cold, rude, rushed, told me she could not refill a prescription I needed, & was quick to leave my bedside. At a follow-up visit, Cecelia Chui rushed me out of her office because I was her last appointment of the day, making it clear my concerns were an inconvenience. Attempting to transfer my medical records only reinforced my decision to leave. In late December '25, I was instructed to submit a records release through the patient portal & was told I would receive confirmation within three hours. That never happened. I called the medical records department, left a message with them as well. Three days later, I received a call from Elizabeth, calling on behalf of the practice manager, to ask why I was transferring care. I explained my concerns & told her my new OBGYN still had not received my records. Elizabeth assured me she would take care of it ASAP & told me to call her back if I needed anything. Another three days passed with no progress. When I called again, I spoke with Odessa & another staff member who raised their voices & told me it takes 31 business days to transfer records. directly contradicting what I had previously been told. When I asked to speak with Elizabeth, I was told no, despite being instructed by Elizabeth herself to ask for her if I called back. This office demonstrates a complete lack of organization, accountability, empathy, & respect for patients... especially those navigating high-risk pregnancies and postpartum recovery! Management needs serious improvement. This is not what healthcare should be. Steer clear!!!

Been going to Dr. Delacruz for many years. She has always addressed my issues and concerns thoroughly. I feel that I am in good hands under her care.

Very rude doctor. Answers your questions like you’re stupid and in a condescending tone. Doesn’t even listen to your questions fully before having a rude answer that doesn’t make any sense. Doesn’t care about patient concerns or questions, just doing this for a paycheck, its clear. Not a pleasant experience having her as my doctor and I know off of many visits because this isn’t the first time seeing her. Literally left me in tears after seeing her. Looking forward to finding an overall pleasant OBGYN after this baby comes!

I will start this out by saying that I am a medical professional and can sympathize with how challenging it can be for these physicans to do it all with the daily workload they have. However, I have been really disappointed with the care I have received seeing Dr. De La Cruz. Our first meeting went ok (husband and I were wanting to start a family) but when I scheduled an appointment before the anticipated "year of TTC unsuccessfully" things went downhill fast. She walked into my second appointment annoyed and before I could explain why I was there said "I thought we talked about trying for a year and I just saw you a few months ago". I should of gone with my gut and found myself a better fit, but I figured I had already established some history with her, so I would stick it out and hope it got better. Sadly that has not been the case, I find her bedside manner to be condescending and often felt like she belittled my questions/concerns. I am really just hoping to find someone I feel… comfortable talking with and who I can feel confident is invested in my care. I will be looking for a better fit.

The clinical staff is good, polite and competent. The clerical staff can be rude, condescending, obnoxious and can escalate any situation, or will outright lie rather than check to find the right answer. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and if you have a diagnosis you're dealing with, or thought a referral was faxed someplace it makes everything more stressful and worse. I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone and only go because it's the only choice on my HMO.

Horrible doctor. Overbooking, very long waiting time. Care about money not patient.

I have been seeing Dr. De La Cruz for 8 years now and he is great. She listens to my issues, takes her time, and has been nothing less than wonderful. I have been less impressed with the other doctors in the practice and definitely impressed with the office staff. But Dr. De La Cruz is the reason I continue at this practice. I guess to each their own.

I found her to be condescending and she frequently interrupted me.

I used womens health first with my first pregnancy, and go figure the other doctor that I cannot stand was on call the night I went into labor. I kindly requested that they send another doctor, and so came Dr Delacruz. She is smart and knew the right stuff to do. However the next morning, she greeted me in my room by hinting to me that I inconvienced her and wanted to know why I was so against this other doctor that was in her practice. It made me feel really uncomfortable and since then I haven't been back nor will I consider this practice.

I have been seeing dr dela cruz since my 2nd pregnancy & she has delivered my 2nd & 3rd babies. I & my husband love her. She's very approachable, she spends time to answer all ur questions & she really knows what she's doing. Evrytime i go to women's health, i always make sure that my appt is w/ her. She took care of my entire pregnancy & delivery & i jst gave birth 2wks ago. I am very comfortable asking her whatever questions i have. I have referred her to my friends & they love her too. The staff in schaumburg ofc are more friendly though than in hoffman.
