Dr. Parag Sanghvi, MD

I am so grateful that I saw Dr. Sanghvi for a 3rd opinion for my non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He got me plugged in with bone marrow transplant team at UCSD after my first course treatment at Scripps was not successful. I was able to undergo a stem cell transplant with Dr. Mulroney and also received radiation as part of this treatment program before my transplant. I am now in remission for the last 2 years

Dr. Sanghvi was part of the head and neck cancer team that just finished treating my husband. He took excellent care of him. No matter how miserable my husband felt as his treatment progressed, Dr. Sanghvi was his ever compassionate cheerleader who gave him weekly "pep talks" to get him through the treatment. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him and his team at UCSD.

Dr. Sanghvi came highly recommended for my daughter's lymphoma. On the day of our consultation, he was amidst a very busy day and we waited for about 20 minutes to see him. However, he immediately put my wife, my daughter and myself at ease with his excellent bedside manner. He explained the treatments in detail and helped us appreciate all the nuances of radiation and why he felt that she needed it. He showed us her treatment plan and reassured us about how his team was able to limit the dose of radiation to all the surrounding organs in her chest and hopefully limit the chances of late complications. As a patient with brain metastases diagnosed 2+ years ago, I was told that I would not live more than 6 months. I met Dr. Sanghvi in 2011 and he convinced me that I should have my mets treated with radiosurgery. I am alive 2 years later and all my brain mets have completely disappeared with radiosurgery. I see him every 4 months and he makes sure that I am disease free.

I sought multiple opinions regarding the role of radiation for my Hodgkins lymphoma. Dr. Sanghvi was excellent and spent a lot of time updating me about how the techniques have evolved and the doses have changed. He made me finally feel comfortable about undergoing radiation.
