Dr. Parakrama Ananta, MD

My "consult" appointment was a joke, I maybe spent a minute in the exam room. Didn't ask any questions, didn't listen, just did a very half-assed check of my reflexes and sent me out the door. EMG was more of the same. I didn't feel seen and nothing was explained to me. Plus... the Dartmouth office patient bathroom is not handicap accessible, which is a problem. At least the office staff was friendly.

I've been a patient of Dr Ananta for a couple years now and I think that not only is he a great no frills type guy and Dr but he delivers with his treatment and advice. I realize everyone's outcome could be different but I have received very, very, effective long lasting cortisone injections for an aging knee that allows me go on with my regular exercise routines as far as being able to do 3 mile walks and also play pickleball. Im very happy I found him and I would highly recommend you reach out to his office. He really knows what he is doing and is a great DR IMO.

AMAZING JOB, MY BACK IS 100%

Did not spend much time with me. He did not explain my images. Had a, ESI which did nothing for me and he also placed me on a nerve pill which also did nothing for me. I called him begging for a pain med, after the second time, I was basicly accused of drug seeking, even though I have images to prove I have a legit reason and not to mention I'm also in the medical field and because of this, am completely aware of the opioid epidemic. But yet a addict can come in to just about any hosp, claim CP, get pain meds no questions asked. An employed person can be suffering from pain and has to put up with the pain, out of fear of being accused, of wanting a, high! He did not make me feel as though I was his first priority when I was in his office and I have decided to see a real doctor in Boston! I do not recommend him.

I saw him in 2011 for lower back pain, (Dartmouth not Fall River) and I guess his aim was good because after one injection I went from a 7 to a 0 on the pain scale. Two years later my pain has gradually returned and having trouble walking and sleeping again. Hopefully it will work as well a second time. I liked this doc enough so I am making sure it is him who does my follow up. My memory of this guy is "businesslike" and "matter-of-fact". He spent enough time with me, answered questions, couselled against surgery except as a last resort, made sure he knew which side was the worst. Results from first injection were so good he said he would not do the planned second and third session back then - so, did not push me to unneccessary procedure/medication.

I DID NOT FIND THAT HE SPENT ENOUGH TIME WITH ME, I WAS NEVER ASKED IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. MY FILMS WERE NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME. I HAD AN 8:30 AM APPOINTMENT, I WAS IN MY CAR AT 8:35 AFTER JUST GETTING A SCRIPT FROM HIM. THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND HE IS PROBABLY A GOOD PHYSICIAN BUT I JUST DIDN'T FEEL THAT HE GAVE ME ENOUGH TIME.
