Dr. Pari Marie Young, MD

Extremely disappointing. I saw Dr. Young regarding Long COVID/Post Viral Syndrome, and the appointment felt defensive, impatient, and non-collaborative. Rather than helping clarify an unresolved diagnostic problem, she repeatedly emphasized that my symptoms were vague, that fatigue was not a primary neurological complaint, and that my presentation did not fit neatly into neurology. Her treatment of “brain fog” was particularly disappointing. When I raised it, she said she did not know what it meant, but did not meaningfully explore cognition, processing speed, attention, executive function, memory, or post-exertional cognitive worsening. I understand that not every complex case will produce a neurological diagnosis, and I was not expecting one. But I did expect a careful, curious, and constructive consultation. Instead, the overall bedside manner felt brusque and dismissive.
