My mother was dx with breast cancer. We went for a follow up and waited 1 hour and 58 minutes to see her. When she finally came in, she did not apologize for the delay. She just sat down and didn't bother to ask how things were going. She hadn't looked at the pathology report prior to seeing my mother. She held up her hand and said one moment when she was asked a question. She proceeded to tell my mother what plan was going to be doing now. She refused to answer questions except to repeat what she had already said. She went as far as turning her chair and placing her back to myself and father when we asked a question. She lacked compassion and common curtesy. She does not only treat the patient but needs to be able to explain the why to the patient and family, not insist that a treatment will be done because she is an Oncologist. We did not need her to repeat that, we all knew why we came to her. She got even more upset and rude when we asked for a second opinion. The total appt lasted… 18 minutes. Majority was repeating herself. It was very disheartening.
