Dr. Patricia Perea Kane, MD

Wouldn't go to her if my life depended on it. For 15 years she kept me on Celexa. She would ask me to describe my depression, believe it or not, when I get off the Celexa it left. I was explaining the SIDE EFFECTS of Celexa assuming it was the depression. She put me on lithium instead and my face started twitching. Thanks, Dr. Kane!

I started seeing her for med. mgt. I had a prior 20-yr. relationship with another dr. who retired. Kane "scolded" me because I called the office confirm an appt. Another time, she complained that I called the office to request a refill on one of my meds. She recommended a therapist in her office, whom I saw briefly. Turns out, she and the therapist were discussing my case. Had she asked me for permission, I probably would have okayed it, but she DIDN'T ask my permission. She didn't seem to understand my objection to this. I apparently needed to explain to her that if I had chosen a therapist not in her office, she would have been required to obtain my WRITTEN consent. She seemed to lose interest in me when she recommended electro-shock therapy and I declined. Worst doctor I've ever seen in my life.

If I didn't have a lot to deal with and limited funds I would be sueing her for medical malpractice. Avoid her like the plague.
