Dr. Stephenson is exceptional. Her staff is great. I highly recommend her for cataract surgery and to correct astigmatism. She did a superb job and even checked in with me the evening before my surgery and the evening after. A truly caring professional.

Dr. Stephenson performed cataract surgery on my right eye and then my left eye a few weeks later. I was very nervous at first but Dr. Dee put my mind at ease. Her office staff is wonderful and so was the surgical team. Dr. Dee was honest, kind, caring, and she took the time to answer all my questions without getting impatient or upset. I was really nervous because I have some other health complications that made me a higher risk but Dr. Dee was attentive and understanding to them. Surgery was a success and my eyesight is like I’m 30 again.

Dr. Stephenson is a very rude and crude person. I had cataract surgery in May of 2017 and it was a terrible experience. I was having reflex reactions which caused me to move. she told me "stop scrunching your eye".."stop moving your head" "you're going to go blind" .  I wanted her to STOP or give me more anesthesia. She grabbed my head, pushed it back and held it down. Finally she told the anesthesiologist "you better give her more". Apparently she did as I didn't feel it after that. My eye was severely damaged .

Dr Stephenson took out my cataracts in both eyes and the outcome was just what she promised.

I just had my cataract surgery performed by Dr Stephenson about 4 months ago, and the outcome was better than she promised. I was very nervous about this whole experience, Dr Dee took the time to explain everything to me in great detail and made sure I was comfortable through every step of the way. She is amazing, and state of the art.

My vision was not improved, as was assured, but significantly worse after the cataract surgery performed by this doctor. To add insult to injury, Dr. S told me that these disappointing results were MY fault because I did not choose the option of a particular implant. I was never informed these implants were essential to a satisfactory outcome. This doctor lied: first by claiming her staff member informed me and then insultingly dismissing my claim that she had absolutely not. From a common sense perspective, why would a patient who trusted a doctor with the professional care of their EYES for heaven's sake, not comply with said doctor's recommendations? And why would a reputable physician not persist in encouraging the "proper" implant for a patient? CAUTION: not honest and very rude.

As if being unable to keep appointment schedule on track isn't enough, she has the nerve to be annoyed that the patient is upset. After all, her time is so much more valuable than a mere patient's! I waited 45 minutes, and when finally taken into an exam room, it was with Ann, NOT Dr. Stephenson -- it took another 40 minutes to see her. I will be finding another eye doctor.

Dr. Stephenson is awesome. She is awesome at explaining everything as she does it, and what the diagnosis is. She is very honest, and tells you exactly what to expect. I would 100% recommend her to anyone.

Four visits and never prompt - once it was over 60 minutes wait. Blames "new computer system" but has used this excuse for TWO years, according to another patient. Medical information, if given at all, is hurried and overwhelming. No attempt is made to verify understanding.This doctor does not handle criticism well - very argumentative and accuses patient of being angry. Yeah, I am but I didn't start out that way!

She is the best doctor in the Sarasota area to diagnose cataracts and to correct astigmatism. Dr. Dee is compassionate, talented, and brilliant.
