Dr. Sylla is a brilliant clinician. She views each patient as an individual who has unique needs. Because of her evaluation of my situation, I was able to support my husband a few months after my surgery when he needed me due to his unexpected quadruple bypass surgery. Any colorectal patient would be blessed to have her as his/her surgeon.

Dr. Sylla is a great Dr. She is thorough, engaged, great "Bedside Manner", smart and REALLY looks after you. I had a great surgery with little pain and was out of the hospital in less than 50hrs.... Amazing! The nursing staff at Mount Sinai is amazing too. Especially Noelle Thompson, Sophia Grant and Kubari Karim! Cannot Recommend Higher!

I’ve been seeing Dr Sylla for almost 5 years now. I like everything about her as a professional and I love her personality.. and I’m picky. She is extremely smart, down to earth and well versed. It’s really not fun to have pain or go to this type of doctor usually, but she’s an exception and the surgery she performed on me went smoothly. I had almost given up on finding a colorectal surgeon who cares and listens. Thank you for everything!!!

Dr. Sylla should not be practicing medicine. She has the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered.

After four failed surgeries and 31 days in the hospital, I found Dr. Sylla. Thank God I did. Dr. Sylla is beyond knowledgeable about her practice. Dr. Sylla is the rudest, most inhuman, and heartless practitioner I've ever encountered, not only I do not recommend anyone to step in her office, I don't think she should be practicing medicine. Furthermore, I was misdiagnosed, mistreated, and disrespected during the whole procedure.

Dr. Sylla performed surgery on me 5 weeks ago. She performed a complex surgery that very few surgeons in the world would be able to do. She is a very skilled and competent surgeon. She is also a very nice person. Pre op she explained the surgery to my wife and myself in a very understandable way. I had seen or discussed with 13 physicians prior to seeing her and came to NY city from out of state. Dr. Sylla and her staff made me feel at ease and this was very helpful. During surgery Dr. Sylla did everything necessary to avoid complications and to use the endoscopic approach so that my recovery would be faster and easier. This was a long and complex surgery but it was successful in every way because of her high degree of skill and perseverance. Dr. Sylla is a thought leader in her area. I was very pleased with my post op recovery which was so much faster than prior surgeries. She is very kind and compassionate. Her staff was excellent and helpful. I feel very fortunate that I chose her… to be my surgeon.
