Dr. Patrick Ryan Fillnow, MD

On my first visit I advised of an issue I had when walking and he ordered a nuclear stress test. Upon completion of the test I was diagnosed with left branch block bundle. Being nervous I called the office and asked that he call me when he got the results. The nurse called and said he advised me to monitor my diet and exercise. When I asked what that meant she kept repeating the same thing. I then said he doesn’t even want to see me, she once again repeated the same answer. Well I knew I needed to see a cardiologist and after that call I called for an appointment with a cardiologist. The next day Fillnow’s office called to schedule an appointment, based on my experience I was not going back. My test was on Wednesday and the following Wednesday morning I had 2 stints put in. While I know from the test he could not tell I had blockage, but all that I talked to said he should have pursued what was causing the Left block-branch bundle. I was released on Thursday and he was still… Primary of record, so he would have gotten a report from the hospital. I got a call from Fillnow on Thursday saying he wanted to discuss my stress test, I advised him he was a little late, I had two stints put in the day before. He acted surprised, but I am sure he had received the report. This is not the care I expect from a physician and wanted to let all know so that they might have the best care and experience. Thank God I listened to my body, as I never made to the Cardiologist appointment.

Dr Fillnow listens patiently and very well and provides good, practical advice. I never feel rushed when seeing him.

Dr Patrick Fillnow is smart, he listens patient for short time, asks few questions, and if elderly patient has multiple diagnosis / problems, he assumes right away what the treatment should be. ( what drugs would suit such pt ) This is not a right approach to deal with fragile, sick, or worried patient. older people have multiple health problems, and they are not all alike. He should have more patience, and at least reassure the patient he / she can rely on his "diagnosis", and if problems occur, they can contact him. I go to Dr only when I have to. So, I need his full attention then. Not just , here is the prescription, see how you go. We are not lab mice. Dr's should learn more about drugs they prescribe.
