Dr. Patrick Earl Johnson, MD

I came in with flu symptoms and asked to be tested for the flu and strep throat. By the time Dr. Johnson came into the exam room (a full hour after my appointment time), I tried to explain my symptoms and the miserable condition I was in. He was dismissive and cut me off to tell me that my flu test came back positive. He never used his stethoscope to check my lungs. He never used the otoscope to check my ears, nose, or throat. Those are the basics of every visit to a doctor’s office, in my mind. He palpated my neck and I told him that I was in pain down my neck and in my throat. I told him that my daughter just got over the flu and strep. He told me that adults almost never get strep. I had to convince him to write a Rx for Tamiflu. Because I was there on Friday, I had no way to reach back to his office over the weekend as my symptoms worsened - wheezing in my chest and a blocked eustachian tube in my right ear (the same side where I told him I was having pain). His lack of… thoroughness has left me in a painful existence all weekend. Now I have to miss another day of work on Monday to find a different doctor who will actually examin me. This has been the final straw in a two-year-long frustrating relationship. I would not recommend him.
